I hear ya, it's not like he plays for EIU and actually did something illegal off the field.

I can only imaging the names LJ would be getting called right now on this site if he was in a different uniform.

My money says none of them would be aggressive or young.

Heres a nugget for you, got to talk to a few guys on the team tonight, This really opened some eyes tonight. they realize they need to turn this thing around and someone needs to step up, I was refreshed to hear this from some of them. they feel they let down a whole lot of cyclone fans tonight, and they want to do something about it.

If you can't forgive your brother, who can you forgive?

He may not be my brother, but you get the point.

Ofcourse im going to defend my guy to the bone. I want just as much as anyone for this team to be successful. And I will defend them through whatever adversity they go through. This game, much will be learned from.

15 a game?? As bad as it hurts, I'd take that over giving up deep passes like the 25 yard game winner in OT without him in the game...would you really rather have him out all season???

If he doesn't commit those PF's early in the game, especially the first one, UNLV's drive might have ended. In that case there is no 25 yard game winner in OT because we win in regulation.

If we had the luxury of talent and depth, LJ would have redshirted this year which would have been for the best. He is not ready to play. Athletically yes, he's ready, but not mentally. I'm not in Angie's camp of kicking him off the team, but I have no problem with sitting him the rest of the year. He cost ISU big-time in this game.

Isn't this blind defense the type of stuff we get upset with other programs about?

I'm all about sticking by our guys - notice I'm not in favor of booting him. But I am in favor of some tough love...not justifying it via youth or aggressive play. Missing reads, making an incorrect play on a ball, etc - all things that can be attributed to youth in CFB.

Committing multiple personal foul penalties on the same damn drive? No, that's just stupid and inexcusable.

Throw the kid a bone, he already has to sit a (few?) games, Chiz probably has some nice punishment, he knows he screwed up, and all you guys want to do is have nothing to do with him. Let's see how he handles the situation the next couple weeks and go from there.

Let the Coach and the rules do the punishing, I bet he knows he let a lot of people down and will pay for it. It isn't my place to throw someone to the lions, is it yours?

Exaggeration. There are very few people that want to have "nothing to do with him".

I want him to ride the pine until he's learn from the mistakes. At minimum, that will be the KU game. I think Gene should give him another game to think about it...then let him come off the bench the following week.

If poor behavior persists - yeah - sit the guy the rest of the season and decide what to do with him after we're done playing. If not - awesome - make smart plays for us LJ - because our defense could really use it.

If Angie is talking about booting a guy, that says something.

I don't agree with that stance, but this is nothing to be taken lightly - at all. I wish more eyes would open to that, rather than passing it off to youthful aggressiveness. I've watched countless of aggressive teams play clean football and do quite well at it.

Not only are we committing these dumb penalties that are supposedly helpful at times - we're still not very good - and the penalties are killing us.

I can absolutely understand that he is pumped up, and I think it's great. He's got a lot of heart - but, at this moment, is not displaying a lot of brains. I don't remember the last time I saw a player ejected from a game. It was embarrassing to be in the stands at that point.

I think he definitely deserves some punishment. And all of the above seems very reasonable. Like I said before, the late hit in the endzone didn't seem that big of deal to me. It sounds like the PF before that was pretty bad as well. I still am unclear what exactly happened there. You punish him for his mistakes, if they persist, then crucify him. I'm just pretty shocked on how everyone was ready to throw him under the bus for a late hit that didn't seem that late to me. I guess perception of the severity of the foul is playing a lot into this.

That's what everyone said when LJ committed his first stupid personal foul. Coach will make him pay for it, it won't happen again. Then after the second, the same thing. Now it's #3 and #4. Guess what -- whatever Chiz has been doing with LJ isn't working, and he was a big factor in ISU losing a game that could have been won. It may end up being the loss that keeps us out of a bowl game.

Wasn't LJ mainly a QB in high school? He is young - not only in age but in playing the DB position. Give him time to learn when he makes the hit and when he eases up. A good team would have been able to redshirt him and let him learn some of that before he was playing, we need him now so he learns on the fly.

It may have been a late hit but if there is ever a coach that kicks a player off of a team for a late hit - even for four personal foul penalties in four games like I have read on here - that would be a coach that will have trouble recruiting in the future.

By the accounts of those who have talked to him he is a respectful person - if he could do those plays over again I am sure he would act differently. Sure of it.

It's fine to suspend him and make him run and yell at him, but honestly, some of you act like you have never made mistakes in high pressure situations.

I think some people want to blame a loss on one player. They look for excuses and he's an obvious one. If we won the game, would there even be this long of a discussion about this?

He doesn't understand what is going on out there. It seems to me like je doesn't care what else is going on out there. If he doesn't care about then it really doesn't matter because his football should be done now...

I will disagree with you here. At least not at the time. He came off the field after the first foul pumping his fist and high-fiving. Didn't seem too contrite. Chizik got in his face. The VERY next play he was in, blatant foul on the QB. These aren't the actions of someone who has any remorse. He stayed on the sidelines chatting with others through the rest of the first half. Didn't seem too worried. This is one of the only times I've been embarrassed to wear ISU gear.

This sucks - I like LJ. A lot. The guy has tons of talent, and we feel it when he's out. He isn't thinking, though.

Everyone saying he should be kicked off the team are well...I'll be kicked off the site. So, nevermind.

Losing control of your emotions on the field like he did are not grounds for dismissal.

What happened on the first foul? TV didn't really cover it.
