My kid threw a wii remote into my $3500 65" panasonic plasma tv. It cracked the screen and ruined it. I talked to insurance and they are going to cover it except for my deductible of course. They wanted me to get an estimate on fixing it. The part was $2900 so they are paying for a new tv. Now what do I do with this huge tv that is junk? Do I just throw it in the dumpster or is worth something to somebody?

You honestly could probably post it on craigslist and sell it for a little bit ($20). Then someone else will take it away to either use it for parts or maybe fix it themselves, but you'd be surprised. I sold a broken DLP TV on there like 6 months ago for $150 or something. Some guy wanted to fix it, which to me would have cost way too much as I'd have taken it somewhere. Wouldn't hurt to try.

From the looks of some of the shooting ranges I've been to, "shoot it repeatedly with a shotgun and leave its remains at the shooting range" appears to be a common answer to your question.

Craigslist for free and you'll have 10 responses in the first minute, and one of them won't be from a Nigerian prince.

I agree on Craig's list. It is a great way to get rid of stuff you do not want. I have actually gotten a couple nice things from Craig's list for free, but it is mostly junk for free.

Drive out to some random gravel road with a deep ditch... :jimlad:

I know there is a jimlad on that so Im not speaking to you specifically, however, this is what most people do. We have a farm about a mile from the nearest "bigger" town and when it warmed up the other week I went out to check out the damages.

2 refridgerators, 2 dishwashers, 1 or 2 dryers. 3 toilets, 1 bathtubs, about 5 or 6 bathrooms worth of ceramic tile. Multiple stoves. 5 or 6 couches about 10 other living room peices. Several tv's Right around id say 50 bags of trash. About 20 or so tires. A bunch of other random things (cribs, ect).

I realize that city people on a whole are pretty stupid, but still, who does that? Do they think that its cool because its a gravel road so nobody cares? I took pictures and put them on flyers and craigslist with a fake email address stating any information to the owners of this garbage gets a $500 (in which I will not pay). Currently have several leads and one pretty much clear cut case (the guy took before and after pics of his bathroom and put the house up for sale). Also the trash had several receits belonging to others.

This weekend the bathroom junk along with a lot of other stuff will be showing up in that guys yard as he is having an open house this saturday and next sunday.

I know OP is a farmer so he wouldnt do that.
