These are all good (funny) responses but let me make a semi-serious "need". How about a University private jet? Would be a big plus for recruiting.
I'm not sure how many schools have their own plane, but if think that would be high on the list of a head coach.

Are you talking just for coaches to recruit or an actual Private jet for the team to use for away games?

I've never done much research into it, but for something small, I'd imagine your looking at $500K minimum per year. I'd rather put that money towards one of the new fancy Bball only (ha ha) dorms.

Yes, both. I'm definitely not trying to be realistic or practical.

Now that you say it, I'd honestly probably put an all basketball dorm up there as a more realistic "need".

They (not the team obviously) have access to the university plane at times. I know other programs get the use of donors planes at times.

I SORT of like the idea of a basketball dorm but I remember back to the days of Barry Switzer and the football only dorms and all those shenanigans.

To many people, schools and countries don't live within their means. It's hard to believe that Johnny Orr left Michigan for Iowa State in 1980 because Iowa State gave him a big raise to $52,000 a year, yes $52,000 not 520.

The main thing they need is Ejim's jersey hanging in the rafters.

I think dorms would be a great recruiting tool. Maybe not for only for basketball, but for all athletes. Also include a dining center with it as well. This would be a great recruiting, especially for in state talent since I don't think Iowa has athletic dorms.

The only thing with dorms, is that for the number of dorms you have for athletes, you have to have the same number of dorms for regular students. I think Kentucky did this, they have 24 dorm rooms where half of them go to regular students, I think this is to be in compliance with NCAA regulation.

Jobs for the parents and AAU coaches of the student athletes like a certain BIG 12 KUniversity.

I met Ed Manning once. Nice guy.

Kansas' Larry Brown brought him in as an Asst. coach---a year ahead of Danny Manning, Ed's Parade all-american 5-Star bluechip son

Not sure if Ed had any coaching experience LOL
