Who would have ever thought we would be talking about elite eights, finals fours, and a NC in a real and meaningful way before this year? I know we all joke and drink the kool-aid but to have serious discussions about it is something amazing. enjoy the ride, brothers (and cowgirl if she's still around). this year is something magical for all of us.

thank you players and hoiberg.

For now, though, I am much more concerned with pulling the conference title out of KU's death grip that they have had on it for the past decade. One goal at a time.

KU is going to find out very quickly that they don't have anyone that can match up with DeAndre Kane. If Kane brings it anything like he did last night against KU on Monday I don't think the Jayhawks will be able to stay within 20. Yes... I am being serious. Kansas just doesn't seem to be able to score the basketball well enough to keep pace with a team like ISU that can score at will.

Its the national championship.

Look, we have all been bitten before by buying into the hype early (ahem football this year), but this is a team that has had, what, 5 players score 20 points in a game this year? And Morris is starting to consistently produce in the double digits as well, I wouldn't be surprised to see him do it either.

I honestly don't think that there is another team in the country that can boast having 6 players who could drop 20 on a given night.

Funny you should say that. The ISU men have only had 5 different players score 20 in a game this year.

The ISU women have had 6!

If Kane can make the open 3, he can't be guarded.

His perimeter shooting has improved dramatically. He is becoming a legit threat from outside and with that it is no surprise that he has now been able to attack the basket at will. Force defenders to have to cover him on the perimeter and they have no chance to stop him.

Wiggins may be a better defender than offensive player. Just saying.

I have a feeling that Bill is going to experiment with putting Wiggins' length on him. If Wiggins doesn't get the star treatment that could go very wrong for KU.

Way up there
My favorite thing about this team is we've never had a game where everyone clicked. Georges was ok late last night but he didn't have to do much, same with Hogue, think about Auburn, we nearly hit 100 and Georges was a non factor. Last night was one of the better games we've played against good competition but does anyone really feel like we've seen this team play its best game? Its exciting, especially considering how Fred's teams have improved in Feb and March the last few years.

I'm not sure you are ever going to walk out of a Fred coached team's game and think everyone played their best game. Fred and his teams are so good at taking what is there that whatever the other team is trying to shut down will not be forced. In this case they tried to shut down Georges and Mel with their zone. They didn't force the issue there and it looked like they -- Georges especially -- struggled. Really he was just not forcing the issue. That is great team basketball.

The sky's the limit!! I would really love to see Percy get some more meaningful minutes to help make him more prepared for if/when he's needed come tourney time. There will almost certainly be a time or two when we start playing games every other day, or even every day, (conference tourney), that Niang and Hogue, and maybe even ME, might need some rest due to fouls or just getting worn out. In the conference, their both getting banged around by bigger guys almost every night. It's be nice to see Gibson with significant minutes so he's ready when they call his number. He can be an OK scorer, but needs to get used to real game play, not just practice time, IMO.

We could be cutting down the nets this spring if our squad keeps improving like typical Hoiball teams.
