1) People who park in their front yard INSTEAD of the empty driveway 2 feet away.

2) Grown adults with no kids or pets that neeed to let their vehicle warm up for at least 10 minutes in 40 degree weather so they can go to work (or whatever).

3) The Denver Broncos. They get blown out at home by Oakland and then they go on the road and demolish a pretty darn good NY Jets team. This is making me a fantasy football idiot...

4) The new chatty DJs on XM radio. This talk would be kinda okay if it were relevant to the channel but it often isn't. If I'm listening to a hard rock station, I doubt I want to hear about the classic Xmas channel or the ratings for 60 minutes 2 weeks ago.

5) People who found the need to snowblow the half inch of slush off their driveway at 6 am on a Sunday when it was supposed to snow for the WHOLE day. A close second is my suburb that plowed my street twice dispite their not being ANY Snow on it. Apparently this is the new way to sharpen the blades or something.

6) The decked out in Iowa crap fans that were standing next to me at the ISU vs Missouri game yelling 'Cyclones Suck'.

Add these 2 to my list:

1. Self-absorbed people with highly over inflated egos!

2. The Jonas Brothers

I hate it when there's a line at Subway, and I'm finally 2nd from the front, and the person in front of me pulls out a list and orders 5 or 6 sandwiches. All different sandwiches, all different fixin's.

I also hate it when people get on an airplane and put their carry-on in an overhead bin near the front, even though their seat is way in the back. This takes up room from people who are actually sitting up front, but we sure can't ask them to carry their bag all the way back to their seat...that would take more time when they are trying to force their way off the plane first. Air travel brings out the selfishness in people.

How many posts is that for me in this thread? I guess I get irritated really easily. I guess it's because so many people are stupid.

The part about liberals who are smug and shoot down others' ideas.

It wasn't a stereotype at all. I also said "usually" liberals. If you read the political forums then you know what people's viewpoints are and whether they are liberal or conservative. Most of the people I was referring to are liberals...so if that upsets you, then I'm sorry.

My guess is you are upset because I don't agree with you and you want to twist what I said to make it seem like I'm stereotyping. Well done. :wideeyed:

It's just that you can't make blanket statements like that.

I could say that Republicans are usually intractable buffoons.
Would you have a problem with that?

And you twisting my words because you couldn't possibly be wrong is another example of why that's my pet peeve. You can't EVER be wrong. Period.

Where to begin...

  • Phone insurance = perfect phone performance. No phone insurance = certain phone death within two months
  • No Shasta Creme Soda available - are you a grocery store or not? Shasta is still alive, damn it!
  • Not updating your website for months at time - Jordan Knight, are you listening?
  • Attempts to cover "Rocketman." William Shatner put in the perfect performance, let it be.
  • Top 40 radio
  • Bad AM radio receivers
  • Hovering for parking spaces rather than parking in a more distant location. I may change my oil in the parking space if I see someone blocking traffic because they are waiting for my spot.
So many more, so little space.

Sorry if you felt I twisted your words. It just seemed like you were pigeonholing people into a role that isn't always true. I know there are people in the cave that don't hold my views, and the debate is vigorous and respectful with those people...so I don't make blanket statements about all who oppose my viewpoints.

It's the extreme polarization that is the problem in politics today, and pigeonholing is part of the reason we have gotten there.

I hope I don't sound too smug saying this.

But the problem I have is I didn't make a blanket statement saying everyone was...I said my problems were with liberals who are usually smug. The liberals whose posts I've read and my friends who are liberals. That is who I'm talking about. Not once did I ever say everyone or include everyone in a general blanket statement.

Then I misread your statement, and again, I am sorry.

Your initial statement was VERY inflammatory...
Then I misread your statement, and again, I am sorry.
You didn't misread... he just didn't clarify what he really meant to say... or he went back on what he initially said.

I love this thread, If for no other reason because one of my biggest pet peeves happen this afternoon and added at least half an hour to my trip home from the in-laws. People who see a sign that says right lane closed ahead and don't get over until the right lane is actually closed. Thank you for making me be in stop and go traffic for 5 and 1/2 miles while you zoom by in the right lane. The worst was the guy who pulled over in front of me after zooming by and then let other cars come over. I was saving that space in front of me so I didn't get in a wreck because you know it was like SNOWING or something. You arrogant *******. Thank you for letting me get that off my chest.

Also, (and this is not aimed at you htownclone, after your explanations I don't think you were necessarily talking about all liberals, but you reminded me of my pet peeve) People who claim liberals are going to take away your guns, kill your babies, and force your children to be gay and remove religion from the world. First we're liberals, were not the devil. Second, no one will ever be able to remove all the guns from the united states, or shut down all the churches or what ever the latest email you got says that we're going to do. As long as you vote you have a voice and that voice is there to stop even the most extreme idealog from getting there way. Stop believing the rumors spread through email or your friend and do some freakin research. If it didn't come from a reputable source, its probably not true.
