I can only hope that the new guys coming in don't see this forum. All 6 of those players are better playmakers than anyone in the McDermott era (except Brackins and Garrett.)

Why? Perhaps I should read closer, but I'm not getting the impression that people are down on anyone coming in.

Each brings his own excitement-

Clyburn for his obvious skill level

Lucious for being a true point guard and playmaker

Niang for having an apparent arsenal of moves inside

Long for being a touted point guard for the future

Dorsey-Walker for what sounds like some real offensive potential

Okoro for toughness and defense.

What's not to be excited about?

I'm almost as excited for Clyburn as I was for Royce. He's going to a great one, and really fun to watch.

I honestly think we will be better next year. we had no interior defense this year and we had no go to scorer. I see the Interior D improving and clyburn being a go to scorer. NTM we didn't have a quick pg to break down the defense and our only true low post scorer, Gibson, played 12 MPG. I see him starting and playing at least 24 mpg and dominating on the block. I see 23-25 wins.

I voted KL, but I actually want to see several. And I'm excited to see how much improvement Gibson and Ejim make.

I put Clyburn, I think his highlight vids from Utah is some of the most impressive stuff I've seen from an incoming player.

I'm also curious to see which incoming player besides Clyburn can step up and knock down some outside shots to replace the void left by Scotty & CA. Maybe Sherron? Could also see Georges with alot of high pick & pops with Korey. I think Georges outside game flies under the radar a little bit. In addition to his post moves he shoots it pretty well for a big guy.

I put Long mainly because I think he is the one we know the least about. Playing in Canada, he hasn't gotten as much attention, and there does not seem to be as much information on him.

Second I would probably go with Niang, because it seems every time I read something on him, someone in the article is saying ISU got a steal.

Oh I agree it's completely fine. I just hope all 6 players realize they will be loved at Iowa State, not just any specific player. It's not like all but 1.3% of us say Naz Long won't be great (which he will) but it may come off to him differently than us.

I chose Korie because it's the first time in a long time we've had a true point guard. With him we might actually be able to run a transition offense next year. When was the last time we've seen our team pull off an ally-oop? Not that that's the end-all-be-all of basketball, but it's exciting as hell. I think he's going to make the game exciting next year.

Im hoping that Okoro can provide some great defensive minutes to allow Babb to perform better on O other than being focused on shut down defense.

After seeing Clyburn in the CCL, I am most excited about him. After that Niang. I think he will be sneaky good. He has great footwork and body control on top of stellar actual basketball skills.

I picked Clyburn, especially after seeing the range he showed last year in the Cap City League, but really all of them.

Cap City League is going to be fun to watch again this summer....
