Okay, this begs the question:

What are your bottom 5 schools?

5. New Mexico - Wouldn't play for Alfraud
4. Georgia - education less than stellar; "how much is a three-pointer worth?"
3. Iowa - goes without saying
2. Kansas State - cheating a-hole coach
1. Memphis - Calipari is a little too smooth, no white guys

Ditto. I take it you have been/seen Pepperdine. I can't think of a better campus anywhere in the world. Mountains, Ocean, SoCal weather.

I'm pretty traditional. I'd love to play at Butler in the old "Hoosiers" fieldhouse. After that, anybody who'd take me would be fine. After all, it's a free ride, with an emphasis on "free". I'm still paying student loans. And of course ISU would be great to play for.

Top five:

1) Iowa State (no brainer)
2) Illinois (tradition and close to home)
3) Texas Tech (would play for Knight)
4) University of Washington (good program, wouldn't mind living in Seattle)
5) Hawaii (maybe just for the location, but realistically there are other schools I would put here)
There are a lot of other schools I would play for, but not that I would have my heart set on.

Bottom five (this is tough as you can always find a "worse" school to play for):

1) North Carolina (couldn't sell out and go there)
2) Duke (see above, although it really shouldn't be here; I respect Coach K)
3) UCLA (too much success for me; I don't like to see the same teams winning --- I guess you can see a pattern)
4) Chicago State (could be one of the worst DI programs there is)
5) Fill in standard obscure school with bad education and sports in this one --- obscure not bad --- bad academics and sports are.

(Sorry some text is hard to read; just highlight it; I was getting creative)

Top 5:

1. ISU-Be nice to play in Hilton
2. K-State- Don't have to attend class, extra money in my pocket.
3. Texas Tech- I would also like to play for Knight.
4. New Mexico- I want to be called out by my coach, take all the blame, etc.
5. USC- In all seriousness, it would be my second choice.

Bottom 5:

1. Duke: I'm white so I'd fit in, but I'm not nearly cocky enough.
2. Nebraska- Boring place, fans don't care about bball.
3. UNI- Screw UNI, no thanks.
4. Arkansas- Can't find a coach ;)
5. UNC- Screw Roy

What tradition does illinois have?

Not for championships, but has been a very solid program over the last 20 years and is a consistent NCAA contender. I don't mean this in the same way as a Kentucky or UCLA, but to say they have a tradition of winning. Lou Henson started a strong precendent there.

Top 5
1) Iowa State (obvious choice)
2) Texas A&M (if there is any place I'd like to go it would be Texas, and I like good D)
3) Wisconsin (see good D)
4) Hawaii (I'd take the long road trips for warm weather)
5) North Carolina (I'd go wear Tar Heel blue, play for Roy and run an up-tempo offense)

Just miss the cut: UCLA, Texas, Florida, Syracuse, Arizona

Bottom 5
1) Kansas (explanation necessary?)
2) Duke (they just feel like they are above everyone)
3) Iowa (again, explanation necessary?)
4) New Mexico (no thanks Steve)
5) Kansas State (I'm probably too smart for Huggy)

It's interesting how some schools are top 5 for some, but bottom 5 for others. It all depends on how you view a school's tradition or if you love to hate them. Duke, UCLA, Kansas, etc.

Never a Duke, NC, Kansas, or any Big 11 school. Iowa State, of course, Gonzaga, LSU, and Stanford.
