I am bouncing around, not sure it is healthy. For the last two days I bounced between anger to acceptance to denial to depression. Like some have said not sure I can be cured until the Iowa game, it will tell me whether I need to accept that we aren't going to be good or that I will be angry we lost that game because we weren't ready to play. Either way won't know till then, so two weeks of instability.

And by good I mean a 5 or 6 win team. I didn't have visions this team was going to be amazing, but I did trust the staff was going to put a good but slightly lesser product on the field than in the prior year.

I'd say denial for about an hour, then skipped to Depression through Sunday, moved on to Acceptance Monday after waking up from another full round of cleansing Sunday night.

Acceptance -- That we just aren't going to be very good this year.

Anger -- That we haven't advanced beyond the "Iowa State of old"

I was at acceptance by half time, and that really shocked me. As bad as that game was, and as bad as it looks for the remainder of the season I really would have expected myself to go through a lot of anger, but I really didn't.

.... Now that I think about it more maybe I have just been stuck in denial this whole time and I'm totally going to lose it when iowa runs all over us.

This is maybe a better way to put where I'm at as well. I just refuse to believe that we really are the "same old Cyclones". It can't be the case. We're over that now! We're a real football team! Real football teams sometimes have off days. But then they come back and win games.

But yeah, if we beat Iowa I'll be able to accept that we are a 4-5 win team that had a really bad outing against UNI. It'll suck. But I'll accept it.

If we lose to Iowa I'll be forced to accept that we are still Iowa State Football and we'll be back to "win or lose, we still booze" and bragging about our tailgating and basketball team.

Accepted that we suck. Depressed that we suck. And still so damn angry that we suck I want to punch someone.

I have moved on, I am ready for the Iowa Game. Sat down to eat on Monday at Applebees and looked up and was greeted to the replay on CycloneTV (I like how those of you who have it get that treat playing all the ******* time). I watched it and felt a little bit better about a few things. Wimberly Kick Returning, Sam Richardson Quarterbacking, The Defensive Back Field, Luke Knott, KVK, and the RBs. IF the D and O line remember that when they step on a field it is time to play, get Jeramiha to remember he is a good player, have Watson not break anymore rules, and have the staff coach a good ball game we will be ok.

But my god that Offensive line play was awful.

1) Denial
2) Acceptance
3) Depression
4) Anger
5) Bargaining.

Denial ---> 5 minutes left
Acceptance ----> 3 minutes left
Depression ------> clock hit zero
Anger -------> When I first got on CF

I don't get upset it's a football game that has no direct bearing on my life. Do I want to win yes, but if they don't I ain't going to let it mess with my life.

Yeah... probably pretty close to this.

Its all about the tailgate for me though. Its a big player in why our attendance is what it is with our level of success. I had a great day tailgating from 7-7 and 3 hours at the end of it doesnt ruin it.

In fact, i went out at half for the first time in a long time this last game. Got some food and got to catch up with some who stay out in the lots during the game. Might have to do that more if this season is anything like the UNI game.

At this point a lot of the frustrations for things, especially offensively, have been voiced all last season especially after the bowl game so theres nothing to do but acccept it. I'm about at the point of just accepting that our offense will suck until we make real change.

Anger/acceptance

Ive spent the whole weekend in denial. I go through these stages slow.

I'm mad because I'm starting to feel like we might not be worth a damn this year. Just kicked in yesterday.
