I always thought Revenge should be added to those steps

I've seen ISU lose to UNI so often it seems like the Clones have a losing record against them

Didn't even have to start a stage. There was only acceptance

Acceptance, and I reached that stage by Sunday morning. It was one game - a bad one for sure, but even if they bounce back and beat Iowa you'd better be ready for a season full of highs and lows. Inconsistency is a hallmark of youth and inexperience.

I cycle through the stages quickly, although they're typically intense in these situations (especially denial and depression).

I delayed Acceptance as long as I could, but it somehow found me by Monday.

For sure in acceptance by now. For those worried about recruiting, don't be. We might lose one guy, but it won't be Lazard/Mister/Wesley. It's one game, albeit a really bad one, and by the end of the year things will level out to where we all thought they would be. If there was someone who really, seriously thought ISU was going to win 7+ games, maybe not that thought. 4-6 should still be seriously possible.

Depression probably for another 3 days...Monday I should be in Acceptance. Next Sat night after IOWA game...I will be back in Denial.

Alright, I'm firmly back in bargaining mode. Iowa is bad and UNI was just a really bad game for us... we can do this. Right?

The question isn't "can they?" but rather "will they?" If Gene Chizik can bounce back from a UNI loss to beat Iowa, then I'm pretty sure that Paul Rhoads can do the same.

Weird stat...since '98, Iowa State is 3-0 against Iowa when they lose their season opener. It's been done before!

Loved visiting the Grand Canyon and was awestruck by the Badlands in South Dakota. Think I"ll remain by the edge and continue to look over at least until after the Iowa game.

I an not in any stage of grief and no Cyclone fan should be either. Anyone that identifies so strongly with a particular group of 18-23 year olds that they suffer from grief when those young people do not do well, has serious mental issues and needs to examine their priorities in life.

Let's see if my memory is correct...

1998 - Beat Iowa 27-9 in Iowa City, lost season opener at home to TCU
2002 - Beat Iowa 36-31 in Iowa City, lost season opener to Florida State in KC
2007 - Beat Iowa 15-13 in Ames, lost season opener at home to Kent State

Why do people keep posting stuff like this? This is an internet forum and nobody is not getting out of bed because ISU lost to UNI (well, other than a few people who probably had some bad hangovers Sunday morning). If you can't tell that a thread comparing feelings as a fan to the stages of grief is tongue in cheek then you probably need to turn in your internet license. People randomly getting sancimonious is even more annoying than people like CloneDude or Clones21 who are constantly melting down.

With that logic, why do you get joy if a particular group of 18-23 year olds win a game against another a particular group of 18-23 year olds.

Sounds like you've got issues, dude :jimlad:
