Got my accounting degree last May and finish up finance this May. Was very easy to find a job, I get paid well, and I enjoy what I do. Took on $30,000 in debt but it was worth it.

MIS and love what I do. I've turned down a couple six-figure gigs in consulting because I'm done travelling for business. I get to see my family nightly, go to ISU games anytime I want and mostly only put in 40 hours. Totally worth it!

MIS. Worth it, but looking back I would have been better served by majoring in Strategic Management or something like that. I work in the IT / InfoSec field, and use almost nothing from my MIS-specific classes. I use more from the general management classes. Any of my technical knowledge was learned through self-study and on-the-job learning.

I had 3 other majors prior to this one making my first 4 semesters in college different each time.

I definitely think it was worth it and I have a great job now. The only bad part is that I have to live in Cedar Rapids.

If I had to do it all over again I'd definitely do Mechanical Engineering instead.

My major was Journalism. I'm not a journalist now, but the writing skills I learned plus the previous engineering classes and the drafting classes I had in high school landed me a really good job.

The MBA I earned after the fact so far has not been worth it. Perhaps in the future it will pay off, but it hasn't right now.

Oh, hell yes, BS in landscape architecture for a whopping $1500 room/board/tuition per year? Started out in an architecture firm in DM, moved to a design firm in the Twin Cities and later caught on with the Corps of Engineers about a hundred years ago. “Sold outâ€￾ and went into project management about 20 years ago and have done everything from managing engineering design teams on flood control projects to interagency agreements to dealing with the freakin’ Asian carp issue which is currently a red hot item. Been an interesting run and not your typical landscape architect career, that’s for sure.

Journalism, and definitely worth it (even though I'm not finished yet). I absolutely love what I'm doing.

Not a single Flounder from Animal House reference in this thread yet? Disappointing.

Would you feel better if I mentioned I was on probation after my first two quarters?

:wideeyed:

I wasn't even 18 yet when I arrived on campus and wasn't really college ready from a maturity standpoint. I was lucky to rally and not washout.

Accounting and it was mostly worth it. I don't love what I do, but I don't hate it either. The only bad thing was that I graduated the first year they required 150 for the CPA and Iowa State hadn't really ramped up their Masters of Accounting program yet. I graduated without the credits for the CPA and it has somewhat hindered my job prospects. But I've had 2 good jobs since I graduated 11 years ago and make pretty good money.

Majored in Communications. Would have been fine if I would have stayed single but when I got married and had a family, the 19,600 starting salary wasn't going to cut it. Became a Financial Rep and never looked back.

BS Meteorology. Absolutely Love what I do. Pay ranges widely, right now I'm on the not so fun side of it.

Wife has bachelors in Apparel Merchandising but not in the field. She works for Mayo Clinic now. <----- My sugar momma.

Marketing---absolutely. I have had some amazing sales jobs, got to travel all over the country and now own my own business.

Without my degree I would be nowhere right now.

Nothing wrong with a sugar momma. I might be headed down the same path once she finishes up at Harvard...

Marketing. Worth it yes. Not directly doing Marketing but working some sales and other kind of duties for an aviation company. Not bad for coasting thru college with a solid 2.6 lol.

Biochemistry/Molecular BiologyI use some of it with my current position, but it's paid off. Worked pretty hard compared to some of my friends in different majors.

Currently taking this major. Tried to finish in 3 years. Needless to say my gpa blows.
