Back i the 1970's I don't remember drinking crappy beer, although by today's standards some of them probably were. Schlitz, Old Milwaukee, Coors, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and Budweiser.

For me, I only drank beer in college if we were playing drinking games. If my goal was to get intoxicated, I was drinking liquor. Sailor Jerry. He's a bad man.
I will always say that Sailor Jerry is the best spiced rum you can get. Good flavor, most alcohol, and good price. Can't go wrong with the Sailor

I tried to stick to the better stuff, but my roommate was super cheap so I also drank some really bad stuff like Red, white and blue, black label, and schaefers. The worst was something called Wiedemann's I think.

Old Mil was the best of the cheap beers in my opinion. Especially when on ice.

OP wasn't even there when I was. When did it open?

We did have progressive pictures at rocky rococco's that started at like 2 bucks and you got 50 cents back for pool or darts, but we usually pocketed and after 4 pitchers we had a free one.

Drank a lot of this stuff. Man, was it cheap. Also used to get Pilsner Club Light by the case for around $3.50. Crappy beer but we were all broke and it did the job.

Old Milwaukee...$30 for a keg back in the early 80's at the Keg Shop. Thursday night was keg night in Fulmer House, Linden Hall. $1 got you keg access....sometimes the ice and cups cost more than the beer!

Have not read whole thread yet but wow. Carvers yes to RWB Good grief that was some bad beer. Hadn't thought about Picketts in a long time. And yes had "Beer. Did anyone mention Scotchbuy yet? Green checkerboard pattern on the can, from some grocery store. About the best thing you could say for it was that it was beer. And Old Mil was the go to choice in those days.

Wow I remember Scotchbuy. I think it was better than RW&B anyway.

Not beer, but did anyone else get "wine coolers" at the Cave Inn for a quarter? They were basically some awful red wine in a plastic cup of shaved ice.
