Fact that we no longer have DeAndre Kane. I'd say the ratio of that to Melvin graduating as 3:1 in favor of Kane

Topics of discussion:
Niang and Noel
Niang broken foot, chance at final 4
Niang weight loss
Hoiberg dancing
BDJ third school, brings up list of all ISU transfers
Nader and Thomas OWIs

Obviously things can happen during the year but if you're making a bingo board those are almost guarantees.

1. Niangs weight loss.
2. Broken foot/ final four contenders. Hogues game at MSG.
3. Monte being Mr. basketball for the state of Michigan and setting a new record for assist to turnover ratio as a freshman.
4. McKay not being able to play until Dec 20 because he initially went to Marquette.

I really hope we don't have to hear the whole Noel thing again this year.

As long as you put it that way...it is clearly a punishable offense.

How much weight Niang has lost and still plays and old mans game?
How Niang played with Noel's?
How Hogue and McKay have played together for 3 or 4 years and came from the same Juco?
How dreamy and highly wanted Hoiberg is?
How we had a chance to go further if Niang didn't break his foot.

Just remember last year them repeating the same thing game in game out, wondering what it will be this year.

When will HC Fred Hoiberg leave for the NBA?

Every year that passes the story gets better. Instead of living a block from the stadium he walked 5 miles each way to be the ball boy because he was that committed to Iowa State. Next year he walked five miles each way on a broken foot foot. The following year he went partially blind from the sun during those long walks and still managed to become a ballboy.

You forgot the 'uphill both ways' part...

My guess is it'll be Niang's weight loss followed by Fred having no coaching experience before arriving at ISU to coach and how he runs a run and gun offense and that everyone in the world except for the announcers didn't think he would be able to reload this year but somehow has managed to pull it off and that there's no way he's coming back to Ames next year with the NBA wanting him.

I think with Niang being a well known commodity now, we'll hear the Noel thing less. The whole purpose was "look how good this guy you never heard of is! He got team MVP on a team with Nerlens Noel!"

Now everyone knows how good he is.
