Rabbuk was actually referring to margin of victory in his post.
Still mind made up, but not quite like it's being portrayed to you.

That makes his post even dumber. Win by 7 or fewer and he fires Rhoads no matter what.............

In 2013, K-State lost to FCS team North Dakota State.....after 6 games into the season they were 2-4. That team ended up 8-5 including a Bowl win.

That is why you let the season play out and see what happens. And make your decision at the proper time.

This is silly nonsense, starting a thread with the sole purpose to freak out about a potential loss and get the "fire the coach" babies all riled up.

No... I wasn't trying to get anybody riled up. I was trying to start a thread that wasn't dominated by "fire Rhoads" or "Everything is fine comrade, nothing to see here". I think a lot of us are waiting to see what happens against UNI and I figured I'd start a thread to find out what that part of the fanbase was thinking.

Whhhaaaaa? Lemme get this straight - you started a thread speculating about people's reactions if we lose to UNI, and your intent was it not to be dominated by "fire Rhoads"?

Seriously?

See what happens against UNI.......and the rest of the season. Even a big win, followed by a bad season and CPR likely makes a DMac type exit. No question CPR's seat is warm. I do think the team is much improved, but we do need wins.

Anything could happen in this game. ISU could win by 30, or UNI could win by double digits.

Sagarin's statistics would predict a UNI win by 8 if UNI-ISU played last year. (72.15-61.42-2.77=7.96) (2.77 is for ISU at home). But a lot has changed since last year. David J. and Xavier W are gone. UNI has a new OC with a very different system. UNI has a bunch of FBS transfers. This team could be better than the 2013 one. Or they could struggle with the new system.

I know that a UNI win is not the way things ought to be in the universe. But that works in UNI's favor on the field. ISU will overlook UNI as an easy win.

If ISU gets beat this Saturday, it's not that big a deal. It wouldn't shock me for ISU to go 4-8 this year with a loss to UNI.
According to Sagarin, it's very little worse, statistically, than a loss to about 6 of ISU's opponents this year:

c/w UNI c/w ISU
27.5 38.2 TCU 99.61
18.5 29.2 Baylor 90.62
12.3 23.0 Kansas State 84.44
9.3 20.1 Oklahoma 81.48
6.7 17.4 West Virginia 78.81
1.1 11.8 Iowa 73.24
0.3 11.0 Texas 72.42
0.3 11.0 Oklahoma State 72.41
0.0 10.7 Northern Iowa 72.15
-4.1 6.6 Toledo 68.05
-5.7 5.1 Texas Tech 66.49
-10. 0.0 Iowa State 61.42
-13. -3.1 Kansas 58.32

Loss: It's only one game, but the 'culture change' narrative loses its prowess a bit.

Win: I call it a good win since any win is, and since it's a change from getting physically dominated in losses two years in a row to open the season.

Convincing win: Again, only one game, but it may be a sign that ISU has a chance to be an OK team. Would maybe be similar to the '04 team that ended up being alright...they held UNI to something like 99 yards of offense after a similar year to last year.

On their reactions based on how the UNI game goes. Which includes the possibility that we lose, and also includes the possibility of a blowout win.

Rabbuk.........2nd post in the thread. Win 7 or fewer.....fire Rhoads. Like I said, delusional.

Rabbuk even calls for Rhoads to be fired if he wins 7 games but loses the Bowl game.

How are we not making a bowl with 7+ wins?

You read what you want to read as I know your lunacy is dependent on making up ****, but that looks like the possible point differential to the game...you know, like the question asked.

Loss, and baring a miracle season, he's done at seasons end.

Win, and he's safe until further disappointment comes.

UNI win, avoid CF as long as possible.
ISU win, doesn't really mean much.
Either way, really hope there are no key injuries. Seems like we always lose someone important for the year in this no-win game.

Loss: Rhoads needs to be let go, the sooner the better as he'd be a lame duck at that point.

Single score win: Doesn't change my outlook on the season positively or negatively. Found a way to win, move on and see what we can do for the season.

Multi score win: Some added optimism headed into the rest of the season, but still tempered expectations.

Loss = apathy, I don't even know if there would be a meltdown (there would be), but people would be checked out.

Win = Excitement building, but still wait and see. Unless it is a blowout, then kool aid comes out.

A loss will be emotionally speaking status quo CPR Ball apathy, and increases the subsequent performance requirement (increasing to competent football that results in 8 wins). A comfortable win does nothing but meet expectations (need a minimum of 5 more wins). A close win from a largely poorly played game will be a wait and see in terms of emotional reaction, but does not change the needed min performance requirements (currently 6 wins).

Lose to UNI again, I'm officially 100% behind moving on from CPR after this season. However, I reserve the right to change my opinion if we somehow eek out 6 wins.

I know there is a contingent that wants Rhoads gone and I there's also a contingent that will defend him no matter what. But I think most of us are in the middle, unhappy with the last two seasons (and may or may not have wanted to see Rhoads fired after last season but accepting that he wasn't so we have what we have) but waiting to either melt down or start the hype train until after the UNI game on Saturday. This is how I'll feel based on various outcomes:

Loss, regardless of score:
Fire Rhoads prior to the postgame press conference, announce interim head coach for the rest of the season.

1-6 point win:
Rhoads is a dead man walking and the season is gonna be 1-11 or 2-10 bad.

7-13 point win:
Maybe things aren't so bad after all. We aren't that great of a football team but we can probably eke out 4 wins and deal with an offseason coaching search. Another week of "wait and see"

14+ point win:

What's everybody else thinking?

A loss will cause me to call PJ Fleck personally.

A close win will cause me to say "Well that's better than the past."

An easy win will cause me to nod confidently and make large Iowa game wagers.
