I admit that I'm a bit torn. I want to hate the Hawkeyes at all costs, but is there a point when I should actually cheer for them? For instance, the Huskers will be insufferable if they win. And who wouldn't like to see the Buckeyes crushed? Or take down a top SEC team?

At some point, as much as I hate to admit it, I think it is good for the whole state for the Hawkeyes to do well (and worse for the state if they have a high profile choke like us in BB last year). I'm just not sure what that point is. I don't think I can cheer for them unless they do make it to the playoff. At that point, a win is good for the state, even if it makes Hawk fans even more insufferable. But who can handle them being even more insufferable? I may give myself a ban for even considering it.

Is is there a point when any of you will cheer for the Hawkeyes?

Never. I don't hate the Hawkeyes because of the University or the teams. I hate the Hawkeyes because of their fans. If the Hawkeye fans weren't so obnoxious I would probably have no issues or ill will towards them at all. But because of their fans... F*** the Hawkeyes.

While I don't cheer for Iowa, I also don't actively root against them. I really dont care one way or the other. Some of my closest friends are Hawkeye fans, and I just ignore the idiots.

Not exactly sure.
Ok... I thought about this and I have thought of a time that allows you to cheer the hawks, but first a few questions.

1) is the female the hottest you've ever seen?

2). Is there more than one to question number one?

3) is cheering for the hawks allowing you to have extra curricular activities with subjects in questions 1 and 2 during said cheering?

4) you are not having to cheer them on publicly.

If you answer yes to all 4, then I can understand, still wouldn't approve, but could understand.

Spend some time with Iowa fans (of which I haven't done a lot of and my condolences to those that have), and you will find the answer is almost never (as I said earlier, when they play Penn State in football).

My god. It will be awful if they make the playoffs. I will never cheer for them.

As far as Nebraska fans go, I guess it depends on where you grew up. I grew up in Eastern Iowa and Iowa fans were far, far worse. I don't even hate Nebraska now that they are in the Big 10. I think it's funny that they suck now but I feel bad for their new coach. So I happily cheer for Nebraska over Iowa.

**** Iowa. An entire life time of *** holes and berating will never be forgotten. Their fans are worse than Nebraska fans too. Makes me sick to think about being one of them...

Here's the joke of the week btw, ESPN ranked Nebraska fans as the most knowledgeable fans in the nation. Give me a break.

Hitler and Osama could have been co-coaching the other team and i'd still be cheering against Iowa.

This thread has helped me dial up my dislike for Hawkeyes. I also was quite entertained by the guy on Sports Fanatics yesterday who wanted to go to the Rose Bowl rather than be in the playoffs.

Now, I'm asking a different question. Might you cheer for them to win against Purdue and/or Nebraska only so that the eventual loss will be even more bubble-bursting?

I'm leaning toward hoping they end the season with 4 straight losses!
