I actually agree to some extend. I am much less high on mcdermott than everyone else seems to be although I thought morgan was a tool. I will give mcD time but my god we look bad and don't attack AT ALL!!!

I was just thinking the same thing last night when watching him run around with weighted moon boots on the court. He is very slow (both running & reaction time) & can't shoot or make a free throw. Not impressed...

If you didn't notice but rebounds were flying off everyone's hands last night. Minnesota had 17 offensive boards!

well it wasn't just his rebounding skills that had me under impressed. He is slow, has no footwork, can't keep his guy away from the hoop, makes stupid slow telegraphed passes, and doesn't score...Other than a warm body, why again is he out there??? He is the Iowa Hawkeye equivalent of barney cotton. We should make a general policy that if another D1 school at about our level runs them out of town we should REALLY think hard about taking them. There probably are exceptions (iowa got haluska) but not many.

This thread is just ridiculous! If you want LE, go to Hattiesburg, MS! Support GM or shut up. If you don't think GM teams will ever win anything, why the hell are you even a Cyclone fan? You sound way too much like a Hawkeye to me. They're 4-0 with WJ in the lineup, GM can't control that... Give the guy a break!
To put it into perspective, we are 2-2 and have lost to two quality opponents. We have been without both our best player and our best shooter (Staiger) in every game so far. I believe with Wesley we are at the very least 3-1. People jumping off the bandwagon make me want to puke.
Everything I can see from the freshmen he brought in this year (the only year I'm really counting for recruiting because he had to throw together last year's class) is really exciting for the future. With some of the guys we already have for the future things are going to get a lot better in a hurry here. Even this year I think we're far from done. We've been right there with 2 good teams WITHOUT OUR BEST PLAYER! If we get him and somehow get Staiger back I think we're a legitimate top 5 Big 12 team THIS YEAR.
Step away from the ledge people...I loved LE when he was here, but I'm happier with GMac and think he's doing a terrific job so far!

Who was faster on the court comparison? Ross or Alex or Tags? Some big guys inherently do not move fast. Yet, when your little guys do not move fast, it is even worse. Thought we had a young 3 point bomber from last year that was not very accurate and had a hard time keeping up defensively. Alex will get much better as McD can teach big guys well. Check in again around Jan. He will look better.

Uh, we aren't 4-0 with shaquille oneil in our line-ups as long as our guards are playing...no one would ever get him the ball inside. Oh, and so the only way I can stay a cyclone fan is if I think big12 titles are in our immediate future (if that is the case how have you stayed a cyclone fan so long). I support mcD, I buy season tickets, I cheer all game long, but I haven't seen ANYTHING yet to suggest he is this mystically great coach you all think he is. Hope I am wrong.

Exactly! He wanted to come here. Just because he isnt the most talented out there, doesnt mean he doesnt work hard. Remember, he sat out a whole year and didnt play any meaningful opponents. It may take time for him to get some confidence.

two things, I was never on the "bandwagon" just wanting them to show me something...ANYTHING! And to claim Staiger is our best shooter before he ever suits up for us??? I don't care what he did in Europe he has to prove it here first. Its like saying that because such and such was the leading high school rebounder for the state of Wyoming he will be our best rebounder as a freshman...

Of course he could kick my butt in horse...what is your point??? I don't play division 1 college basketball and never claimed to and if that is the criteria to criticize we might as well shut the board down. And there are times to be this critical and it is when a player is THIS bad!

Actually if we had one of those New York playground players on our team, we would be much better. Right now every team in the world should play pressure defense against us.
At least Mike would barnstorm his way to get a 35 foot shot off before the clock buzzer. He had to be really good last year dribbling since he had little help on taking the pressure shots. Yeah, he made a ton of turnovers. Yet he had the ball 75% of the time. Be like Mike.
