I'd say at this point it's Michigan, Kansas, Iowa.

I'm not saying it's likely, but it would be awesome if it was Iowa State-Iowa in the National Championship game. Chances it ever happens are ridiculously low, but both teams are capable of making it there if they play their best basketball during the tourney.

National analyst and blue blood fan's heads would be exploding!

It's funny that the "usual suspects" hawk fans haven't invaded this thread yet. Usually it doesn't get past page 1 before they insert themselves in any post that relates to them.

They could be legit, but go look at their schedule. There isn't any win on their entire schedule that you can point to that would tell me that they are for real. Is BYU their best win? It looks like it.

So they could be good, we just don't really know.
The players they have from last years final 4 team tells us they are legit.

Iowa in the title game makes me want to puke.

I can't - in good conscience - put Kansas above Iowa. I think ISU and Iowa would both beat Wichita St but both would lose to Kansas. I think MSU and Michigan are the teams that would give us the most headaches if we played 20 games and took an average. Kansas would hold up the state of Kansas and Duke would hold up Carolina. Michigan and Iowa have a more consistent duo, imo.

Michigan
Iowa
North Carolina
Kansas
Oklahoma
Watch basketball much? N Carolina is nowhere near 3rd. Duke is average and UNC is well below that.

No need for the snide comment but the only thing that I MIGHT switch would be NC down one spot and Kansas up one but I definitely think the second best team in Kansas is not better than the second best team in NC. I personally think Wichita St is very overrated.

If we're speaking strictly of the top 2, I think I'll leave it as is.

They did go to the final 4 last year and have every one back.

Without any research (read: I'm lazy) whatsoever, I have to think ISU and Iowa would hold their own against any other combo, including KU/Wichita St, MSU/UM, Duke/UNC, etc. I asked this in the other thread I posted about our UM win, but was lost in the ensuing avalanche of fighting w deanvogs and tm. Anyway, just thought it was interesting to think about.

1) Kansas (Kansas/Wichita State)
2) Michigan (Mich/Mich State)
3) Iowa (Iowa/Iowa State)
4) Pennsylvania (Villanova/Pitt)
5) Kentucky (Kentucky/Louisville)
6) Ohio (Ohio State/Cincinnati)
7) Oklahoma (Oklahoma/Oklahoma State)

I was thinking about making a new thread, but I wonder if we could merge it into this one. What are the top 2 goofiest looking coaches of neighboring states. I think the answer is clear Iowa and Nebraska.
