Why? they play in the big ten...a slower more defense based conference. Sash is good but could he play with big 12 or SEC speed?

Brandon Wegher was good because he had a good offensive line. I would take some of those guys yes but you have to take in affect they play different style of ball in the big ten.

I actually agree with you here Colfax. Clonefreek you have to kidding right? I would kill to be able to recruit the state like Iowa has. We have done a decent job, but there is so much more room to improve in this area.

And with regards to the Wegher and Sash comments, I would love to have those two on our side of the ball this year. By saying that you are just making yourself look ignorant. Sash is one of the best in the country, I firmly believe that. And Wegher would make a better replacement for A-Rob than anyone we have right now. (Hopefully Shontrelle proves me wrong here) :wink:

Yes but the talent pool in the state of iowa is changing, ESPN just had an article on how the talent pool is shifting in the US. Trust me I love the players you have listed, they did some great things for us. But how often do those players come around? I mean take a look at the zandvigs highly recruited out of Iowa and what have they done for us? besides fumble about 18 punt returns a few years back.

clonefreek, you want to get talented kids out of other states but you still have to work hard on mining the talented kids you have in state. There have been many legitimate four star prospects in-state that ISU (and Iowa for that matter) has missed out on such as:
Adrian Arrington
Jordan Bernstine
Dan Hoch
David Barrent
Keenan Davis
Brandon Wegher
AJ Derby
Austin Blythe

Christian French is a four star prospect and is still available. I would hope that both teams go after him.
