Did he recruit Jake Sullivan as well? And don’t forget about Shane Power lol.
Yessir. Tyray Pearson for the 2000-2001 championship team too although he didn't play many minutes. Had a great senior year on bad ball team. Brandon Hawkins who played well as a freshman and Marcus Jefferson were LE guys too.

I'd love to hear the OP offer a suggestion on what we should have been doing differently offensively. The truth of the matter we had horrible roster makeup offensively. We don't have guys that can create their own shot or hit an open jumper. John Wooden himself couldn't have figured out how to make that team score consistently.
No offense will work when Jones only shoots 47% 2 foot from the basket.

Let's just say that there were a while host of issues at the end of LE's tenure here that indicated he was not really in control of the program.

I'm glad he got his personal life straightened out, he was great dealing with fans.

He quit drinking anyway. Ended up losing his job at CSU for being abusive to players.

It was almost frustrating to watch the sweet 16 games last night in that, teams like FAU have so many more weapons then we do, as did plenty of teams that had 3 or 4 guys that could step up and make a '3'. THEN... plenty of teams seemed to have big guys down low come off the bench (like Kstate) who were better than Osun or Jones. We just need talent upgrade and I know TJ is working on it and has made great strides. Again, kudos to him for getting us into the tournament these first two years with the rosters we had. Wow.

Have you ever seen Jone shoot further away than 2 or 3 feet

Yes.

It's kind of remarkable that ISU split with KSU and had chances to get one in Manhatten iirc if you imagine ISU oing toe to toe and that goes for lots of teams.

Hopefully there are upgrades in speed and skill that pay off for ISU.

If we throw out another >100 ranked offense, there will be some upset fans. Rightfully so. But TJ has a 0% chance of being fired in the next 2 seasons. He's built plenty of goodwill reaching the tourney the last 2 seasons.
Oh you can be disgruntled lol hell, I’m annoyed about it but I’m not a full blown moron (most days)

This thread living longer than my grumpiness about the basketball team is not something I saw coming
I have a rule. Try not to tweet or start a thread when pissed off about Iowa State. It is very very very hard.

There’s no doubt our offensive performance against Pitt was embarrassing, but I don’t know if I would say that beating KSU was remarkable when we swept Baylor, swept TCU, split with KU, and split with Texas. Agree we went toe to toe with some good teams and the way it ended we lose sight of the fact that TJ had some nice wins this year. The future is bright.

Both of TJs teams so far have gone this way: they have a relatively high ceiling, high enough to be successful at the highest level, but very low floors. Every now and then, you have a floor game. Some teams, a floor game is more like a ~60 point outing. For us, it's been around 50 and even less. If we get the offense rank up, that floor will rise with it. Bringing that floor up should take away some of those stinging losses this year in "we should've easily won that" games.

Its a fair rule. I use online places like this to burn it out so I can move along with my day. Probably need to widen my range and tone it down a notch though. If I can picture me calling myself a dumb ass after the fact thats usually a sign to change stuff up a bit
