Tech's had two hall of fame coaches and neither has been able to turn it around. Definitely have a disadvantage in terms of location and support for their program.

TCU will succeed first.

TCU is the easy pick. They will have a new arena to sell to recruits, and if they get a little success, they will be able to get some of the DFW talent that wants to play close to home.

TCU -> I think this year has proved Trent Johnson is a very good coach.

Johnson was good at Washington. I knew he would have TCU swinging in a few years. Tubby seems to be washed up. We shall see.

It looks like in his 4th or 5th season that he usually turns his team around. Then after he does that, he leaves....

Tech beat us this year so they were relevant this year. Look at where we finished.

Is TCU a lock for the NIT? I haven't really looked into it. I think it'd be nice for them.

We beat #5 KSU in 2010, that still didnt make us anything better than a steaming pile of crap.

Tcu has basically a nee arena next year and is near Dallas. Tech plays in the middle of nowhere with a washed up coach.
TCU will have a $60 million upgrade to its basketball arena it played in until this season. It's an on-campus facility and is situated eerily similar to where Hilton Coliseum is to campus.

TCU is obviously on the upswing in basketball and Trent Johnson will be able to bring in top recruits. The exact opposite can be posted about Texas Tech.

Did anyone watch the cyclone.com highlights, major bare sections at the high school stadium for a Saturday game. TCU students don't drink, right, so what else would there be to do on a Saturday night. How do you not fill it up. Heck I think there was more Iowa State fans. No way TCU becomes relevant until there is a change in culture. At least UNI offers free tickets to fill the stadium. That was an embarrassment.

There really isn't a clear-cut winner here. I am going to say that Texas Tech will be more relevant quicker. Coach Tubby Smith is slowly rebuilding that program and I think it may take a few years but I think they may make the big dance soon.
