I think Okoro is going to get minutes based on hard work. I think when you look at the stat line, Niang is going to look like our top freshman, but Okoro is going to be the player that you want there because of his effort.

I agree re: Okoro as I really hope he gets playing time. That would mean he is able to defend players Babb currently has to expend energy guarding. We will need Babb to return to his early season form of last season.

I would be shocked if anyone besides Niang gets any significant minutes because they need another body in the post and plus they already go 8 deep without him.

Okoro will not be getting major playing time because he won't beat out the guys ahead of him at his position.

I agree with rholtgraves - this is as much about opportunity as it is readiness. Barring injuries or other reasons a returner would miss games, Okoro, SDW, and possibly Long wont get too many minutes.

Let's do the minutes exercise: 200 total minutes to average out...

Clyburn: 34
Lucious: 33
Babb: 33
Ejim: 26
Booker: 18
Gibson: 20
McGee: 22
Palo: 7
Niang: 5
Everybody else: 2

As has been mentioned, that's a 9-deep rotation, which are actually kind of rare. 10 players is even more rare.

Depends on if Fred decides to press this year like he has talked about wanting to do.

Nice breakdown of the minutes. Looks like a good prediction to me.

By the end of the season Niang will cut into Gibson's minutes.

Boy we look solid. Minutes are going to be tough to get unless Fred really starts rotating players and pressing more than last year. If Clyburn can be special and the post players really step up, we should have a great year. I think with Lucious at the point our tempo will be way faster this year.

Whoever can play D & Put the ball in the hole!

Niang is the obvious choice. Booker has the potential to be a 20mpg, but if his heads not on straight he could get 10mpg. Similarly, Gibson could be 20+mpg, but if he doesn't work hard in the weight room and become a better defender, then Niang could ger 20+mpg.

My sleeper is Dorsey-Walker. If he can shoot the 3 he might get 15mpg. We lost 2 pretty solid shoters in Christopherson & Allen. Babb is a great defender, but if he struggles from 3 next season, he might be not get the minutes.

It would be good if the freshmen got some meaningful minutes as a boost for 2013-14. Quite the balancing act if the experienced roster goes 8 or 9 deep.

A good problem to have, as they say.

SDW is a great shooter, and you always need shooters, I think we're underrating his value a bit going into next season.

All of the freshman will at some point be starting and probably all make All-Big 12 first team.
