I think only KO and LJ get drafted. HH may get picked up as a UDFA. If TB has a good pro day he might get a UDFA look.

No way Money gets drafted and I doubt he gets a call afterward. Sorry, but he showed no consistency and there are a lot of WRs with his measurables that catch the ball better.

Not sure how high KO will go. Health has to be a concern but hopefully he has a good combine/pro day. He could go in the end of the second round as a Guard. I'm looking at you Pittsburgh! Protect Big ben with Big KO.

I think LJ comes in at the end of the second or early third. Looking at you again Pittsburgh! Pick up a shutdown corner. He would be great out on an island with the Steelers blitzing D.

I agree with this.

We Cyclone fans will speculate and convince ourselves until draft day every year about a player or two until we are at a point of a huge let down by the time the draft actually happens - and lo and behold where we were to begin with is pretty damn close to right where the draft ended up.

I'm not going there this year. I will be happy if KO and LJ hear their names on draft day. Anything else, even UDFA for someone else, is absolutely just gravy.

And every other fan of potential draft picks feels the same about their guys.

LJ will WILL have to do well at the combine if he wants to get into the second round. Right now, he's a good cover guy with average height. When NFL scouts are making up their draft board and they compare 2 guys with similiar cover skills, they'll take the taller one every time. If you look at a list of corner rankings for this seasons draft, their are a lot of guys around LJs ranking (aka skillset) with similiar size. If he shows well at the combine and proves to be a better athlete than that group, he'll move up. If he has a bad combine, he'll move down, potentially as low as the 4-5th round area.
Stop trying to act like you know more than your do. I am not pumping Johnson because he is an ISU player. He has locked down every top receiver thrown at him. No questions asked. And a healthy Osemele owned his man in the same way(the last half of the year). I am basing my assumption on an actual scout picking up some film and saying this guy is good.

My point is LJ has better cover skills than the great majority of college players. You act like tons of guys could do what he did this year.

Last year people on here threw out like 10 names from isu they thought would get drafted. We didn't even get 1. Not even Collin Franklin who some thought was a lock.

Thanks for regurgitating what Todd McShay and Mel Kiper think. You know, nto all pro scouts are lazy enough to let two hacks from ESPN do their work for them. I think both Osemele and Johnson go higher, because they are better than their current ranking.

Wait, but they are lazy enough to let some anonymous message board hack do their work for them? Todd...Mel...Brett. 2 of those 3 guys get paid to give insight. Hmmm.

After watching Blackmon tear apart a good Stanford D, I am gonna go out on a limb and say LJs performance through that game won it for us. I'm not saying he did it by himself, but if you look at the close games they had, Blackmon came up huge for them. Off the top of my head A&M game, K-state game and Stanford game he blew up in all 3. I'm sure his stats were good in the blowout wins, but all I know is LJ is the man!

10 names? I only remember Franklin and Sims having a realistic shot.

Yet how accurate have they been the last few years. They usually get the top 5, and then it turns out they don't know what the NFL teams are actually looking for.Scouts will do their own work, not rely on those twits, which is why they are really worng outside of the top few. They ask about the top prospects, adn get the feeling over what guys are near the top. Then after that, they have no idea, and it shows on draft night.

Do you have anything to actually contribute here? because in all honesty, they are not going to nail the exact draft position of KO and LJ. They could go higher or lower. My money was on higher. Why are you saying lower?

We only had like 5 guys work out at the pro day. Get your WAG a little back in the ballpark here. The only thing I thought was that Collin Franklin should have been invited to the combine.

I think LJ (and maybe Benton) are really going to surprise whatever team picks them... they have spent their careers being forced to cover for longer periods of time than almost any other DBs in major college football. We have pretty much had a nonexistent pass rush against Big 12 competition the entirety of their careers. They are used to covering for a long time.

KO will be a late first/early second round guy.
Leonard Johnson will go between the 3rd/5th round.
That is it.

Benton will get invited to a camp because of his size and athleticism.

I had no disagreement about KO, and I would certaintly hope scouts picked up some tape on LJ, but what gives you the impression that he's a better cover guy than say Coryell Judie at TAMU? He's pretty similiar in terms of cover ability, IMO, so what is it that you see that sets them apart?

The OSU game against Blackmon really brought LJ into the spotlight nationally, but he's not the only guy to do well against Blackmon this season. In order to get into the 2nd round, he'll probably have to be in the top 10 for corners. I certaintly think he's close, but without a good showing at the combine I don't think he sneaks in, hence why I said he'll probably go in the 3rd.

KO and LJ are locks, both will be gone by the end of round 3.

I think Hicks is next on the list, followed by Benton.

If somehow Money could get an invite to the combine, I think he would work his way into the draft, based on what I think would be ridiculous testing numbers.

Someone that no one is talking about is Rump. Dude is a stump in the middle, and pretty athletic. He won't get drafted, but I bet he will get into a camp.

Don't wide receivers in the NFL normally have good hands? That automatically knocks him out of the running.

I really wish we could find out what Hicks would score on the Wunderlic.

I think that KO and LJ get invited to the combine and everyone else will have to prove it on pro day. My guesses:

KO: mid 2nd round
LJ: 4th round
Benton: UFA
Reynolds: UFA
Hicks: UFA
Rump: free agent tryout

We're definitely biased here. I was SURE that Franklin would get drafted. I thought that Lamaak's versatility would be a huge selling point. And I thought that Sims would make a team mostly due to special teams play. I don't know that any of them saw a down of NFL play this year.

LJ's a decent corner, but he has average size and average speed. Still, with all the passing in the NFL, he'll find a spot. KO I think will be an immediate starter somewhere at Guard or maybe even RT. He's an elite college player and has shown that he can pass protect well. Everyone else better hope for a good pro day and to sign with the right team as a free agent.
