Ah yes, the resorting to conference strength and touting a league that hasn't won a sweet 16 game in half a decade. Iowa is the #1 team on kenpom, projected 1 seed, and favorite to win the B1G. Let this thread dissolve already.

Compare and contrast to our players after a loss. They are confident to the point that sometimes I worry that they are delusional. But I'd rather have a group of guys that think they can win rather than a group of guys that sort of thinks they can win.

Well, any team in the tourney could get to the S16 game. Look at UCLA last year. They really "lucked out" by catching the upset winner (who shall not be named) in order to move on to the S16.

To the Hok's credit they have had a better season than I expected, but they still look like a very beatable team in the NCAAs right now.

In the last couple minutes had his guy isolated on the right side with a clear baseline path to the basket and dribbled once more, then passed it. Could have driven the ball, could have shot the three.

Unfortunately for Iowa fans there is the entire season to measure. Uthoff has been mediocre and diminished the last 3 weeks, while Niang keeps on producing

Niang hasn't produced on the defensive end his entire career. Uthoff has. Yes, Uhtoff is slumping, but a really good 2 way player is better than a really great 1 way player.

Uthoff had a real good month there where the more gullible people of the world thought it was close despite Niang being better in nearly every statistical category.

If you think Woodbury is a great defender like most Hawk fans do you can't think Niang is a horrible defender. They both just stand their ground and are in the right spot at the right time.

Niang is so much more efficient offensively and rebounds at the same clip as Uthoff. I think the biggest difference is what Niang can do for his teammates. Uthoff is a good player but he doesn't get his teammates involved in anything. I think that's what separates them the most. I mean Uthoff has more turnovers than assists this year.
