This will not happen, but if this guy wins the job that would be awesome. Not because I don't like the other guys, but because it means this guy is legit.

Darius Lee-Campbell. New offensive staff, new QB, new offense.

I know that's a highlight tape but WOW he looks phenomenal.

Rohach for the NDSU game
Sammy for the next three.
Lanning for the following four.
DLC cleanup for the last four regular and bowl game.

If we go through 4 QB's in a season we are not going to a bowl game.

According to NCAA 14, Richardson develops much better over the years than Rohach. Sam, if healthy, will pass for more than 3,000 yards and 20 TD this season, and Rohach will be about an 80 overall QB. Then next season, Sam will be rated as a 92 overall QB as a senior and eclipse the 3,500 yard passing mark and 25 TD range. Rohach's development will be minimal, and he will see very limited PT his junior year as an 82 overall QB. In 2016, Rohach's senior campaign, he will finally get a crack at starting again. However by this point, following another offseason of minimal improvement, 84 overall QB Rohach will be supplanted by 85 overall QB Joel Lanning, a junior. Tough break, Grant.

On a more realistic note, I think Rohach starts this season. Looked to possess all the tangibles as last season was winding down. Could be that the line was finally healthy, but his pocket presence was greater in the last 3 games than SBR's has been at any point in his career.

Sidenote-would SBR transfer? He is a RS JR, no? Maybe a downward transfer like Barnett last year?

I think history supports this prediction.

Mangino's history?

I hope Rhoads stays out of the qb carousel this year (if he was ultimately the issue the past few seasons).

Sam Richardson will win the job imo.

I just hope that the OL stays healthy--and can pass block. On top of opening holes for the running game, of course.

It's going to be a 3 man race after the Spring Game. At some point you can't blame the line all the time, you have to have a QB that can make plays in spite of poor line play. I think Lanning is the biggest play making QB on our team.

I have always liked Richardson as the QB. I think when healthy, he can be really good for us. He was probably more hurt than the coaching staff led on which resulted in some not so good games.

It's frustrating as fans, but the kid was still only a redshirt sophomore last year and still has the potential for a lot of development. When things start going bad, I think we start jumping to irrational conclusions and want immediate results.

But whoever the coaching staff chooses, I will support 110%. Not having an offensive coordinator named Messingham should help as well. Although after the first bubble screen of the season, I will be calling for Mangino's head.

Hope you left your jimlad at home, because Mangino does this a lot IIRC

You mean, like that guy named Manning did Sunday?

I've heard a million times that Rhoads keeps his hands off the offense, and the majority of ridiculous QB carouseling has gone on since Herman left (Jantz was legitimately injured when Barnett took over for him in '11). I'm 95% sure those were Mess's calls.

I'm picking Richardson to be the guy. He's been the better of the two when healthy, and he reminds me of Todd Reesing in a lot of ways.

I don't really care either way though, as Rohach developed quite a bit last year and was looking sharp in the last few games. I think either guy will do just fine given some time to throw.

I don't think it is coincidence that Rohach suddenly looked like a Big XII QB once we played the two worst pass defenses in the league.

That said, I don't think there's much separation between him and Richardson. I'd be fine with either.

NOT Lanning or Hodge unless there is CLEAR separation, which I sincerely doubt.

1A) QBSR
1B) Rohach

I don't think anyone got a fair shake under Messingham, just a steady stream of people getting mind****ed. I am actually comfortable with either guy (or whoever is behind them) as I think Mangino is intelligent enough to teach them the things they need to be taught and put them in a position to succeed. Easy to say, hard to do, but he's proven he can do it with guys like Todd Reesing, so I'm not at all concerned about the QB spot. I think there is plenty of talented options there for someone smart to do with as they see fit. Mangino is that man.
