Rhoads isn't going anywhere no matter what happens this season. Season ticket sales were strong this year, and with an upgraded stadium next year, they will be strong again.

We will return this coaching staff for next year, unless someone leaves on their own accord. Next year will be the make or break year for CPR. Another season of what I assume will happen this season (after last year's results), will force JP to pull the trigger.

This is right. Next year is make or break due to the new stadium and length of the contract. We are building a new stadium basically, the money isn;t there to buy out PR. Not happening....not now or this year anyway.

The notion that the stadium will sell out next year simply because of the SEZ is suspect at best.

Happens all the time. Especially this day and age when everyone wants to be part of the latest and greatest, shiny, new gizmo.

No...the talent is there to win games. Today was a lot on the coaching. Players lost their way, and coaching is just as much motivation as it is other things. This team lost their way, and no one did anything about it.

This. I started having questions when we got slaughtered in the Liberty Bowl on how for the 2nd straight our coaches failed horribly to make the team care. This game looked just like the Liberty Bowl.

Where is the leadership like a Woody?

The players should just take steroids. Getting busted for that would be less embarrassing at this point.

And if they didn't get caught? Oh, the possibilities..

Cant believe you just said this. I'd rather field a losing team then be with one that's treated like a joke(not much of a difference from right now, I know). It would make recruiting harder(can't be much worse then now). Uh... it effected SMU for a long time after they cheated and everyone looked down on SMU afterwords(we are already looked down on by most teams). Well this is pathetic.

If the rumors are true that I've heard in the last couple of days I'm not sure Rhoads can motivate this team. Talked to a couple people that are very connected to some players (Family and HS coaches) and it sounds like the a good portion of the team thinks CPR is an "all about me guy" and are sick of him. They are saying that this also was a part of why Mangino was put in the press box.

Take it for what it's worth but after seeing the demeanor of the team today it did nothing to make me second guess it.

Not true. The guy you talked to isn't connected to the program and lied to you.

FarminCy is onto something...

I told you guys a week or two ago that Rhoads lost a lot of people's respect quite awhile ago. I'm talking people in and around the program, and likely a lot of the players. Because Dean and I are Hawk fans no one wanted to believe it, but it's the truth.

My two cents on the coaching situation. I think it's a little ridiculous to hire Mangino in the offseason to be the head coach. If you're Pollard, and you think hiring Mangino may be a possibility then you let Rhoads go and you make Mangino the interim head coach. That way you can see what he does with the team and make a more educated decision after the season.

Sounds just like a Hawk fan's reaction when we say nobody respects Fran on the basketball team. Don't tell me that you've never taken it badly when someone's said that. Nobody takes that stuff well from rivals.

1. Why not? He won at KS.

2. Man, the D is much worse than last year and last year's was awful. I really think West Des Moines Valley could score on this D.

then just think what waukee would do....

ISU fb isn't an iPhone 5. You can't show two or three win fb off to your friends.

Plenty of people will buy tickets in the new club section of the SEZ to brag about it to their friends. Same thing.

The stadium probably won't be sold out every game, but ticket sales will be plenty high enough to justify retaining Rhoads and company.

For all of those who actually have "Iowa State" on our diploma, and know the work that was required to get that.........think about the money paid coaches since 1986 to guys who have little to do with Iowa State other than they signed a contract that they could "coach" football. Ugh. It has to top 1billion ducats. Messingham, Marty Fine, Chizik, .....they are all laughing at us. something went really wrong in year three of CPR. Year 4 was Liberty Bowl. Tell me something to give me hope now.

CPR isn't going anywhere. We're Iowa State. Who are we going to get that's any better?

So we should just give the guy a lifetime contract then? Nevermind 5 straight losing seasons? And a high water mark of 7-6...needing a narrow bowl win over an abysmal Minnesota team for that?

Dan McCarney showed us we can do better and can expect better. CPR should get more time...but how much more?

That attitude belongs in the MAC or the MVC.

We'll actually be paying players for these performances soon.

I wouldn't be so sure. Ticket sales are already down 5% this year.

Coach Rhoads has done a couple good things for Iowa State, but overall has been a ****** coach and personally wanted him to exit a couple years ago. All talk and no results just like a ******* politician. Get rid of him.
