Folks defending CPR are this point are getting comical.

AAALLLLLL of these players are HIS guys, and well into HIS recruiting. They are hot garbage. Im even ignoring how in the eff we are in a rebuilding year in what should be CPR's recruits all being upper classmen for the mostpart.

Hes a great guy, he wants to be here, but he just isnt recruiting...and the excuse making for 1 and 2 star talent is ridiculous.

I think you're all still bitter about our loss this weekend and you automatically look to chop off coach rhoads head once we lose a game we should've won. We've got a new offensive staff, NDSU is three time FCS National Champs, we lost our top receiver, the best center in the big 12, and our starting safety all in the first half. If you're saying fire coach rhoads after the first game, you're not a true fan. Get behind the coaching staff and the kids, and let Jamie make those calls. It's the first game for god sakes. We were the better team in that game, things just didn't go our way. There's 11 more games

Yeah, flukes happen, no way we go 3-9 and lose to an FCS team next year.

..... Wow. You used just about every single thing I hate reading after a terrible loss. Excuses, calling out other posters fandom, and being told not to worry because we dont get paid to do that rolled into 1 giant irritation of a post. Congrats.

No. His problem is player retention. His guys should be seniors. Oh wait, we don't have that many seniors. That is our problem.

I love Mac and what he did for isu, conference is harder now IMO and has been since then.
With the number of conference wins, CPR is also finding it hard. How many max conf wins have we had in the five years for Paul? Three in a season?

We were not the better team. We all saw the game.

Inevitably ISU will get pushed out of the Power 5 conferences when the GOR ends

So let's just pack it in and drop down to the Missouri Valley

Because....why delay the inevitable?

1. Mac was in a completely different environment as far as competition was concerned.

2. I am sad I have no logical argument to defend keeping CPR at this time. I don't want to fire him but I don't have a good reason to keep him as we sit here today.

He had post-Hayden Fry hawks, easy non-con, and the big 12 north and some years Baylor as one of our South games. Remember that Baylor? I miss that.

Mac > Chiz and CPR combined.

If you disagree, say why here. Thanks.

It was a carbon copy of the Tulsa bowl game. Lots of emotional energy that wears off quickly, instead of emotional toughness.
Agree above and beyond 100% , seems as though the team absolutely wilted once they encountered NDSU coming back, the culture has to change and the mindset has to become tougher...playing at the collegiate level myself that often times is the difference between a W/L

Honest question because I haven't read into it much, how big of a risk is this if/when conference realignment occurs again? Meaning us finding refuge in one of the lower conferences. What if football continues to flounder yet we become a perennial top 10 basketball program? Clearly football is the engine that drives a school, yet would that be enough to let us maintain a Power 5 association?

Yep, and not just the Tulsa game. I admit, for far too long I confused the rah, rah emotion for toughness. We at times play with emotion, but toughness? We have become increasingly weaker the further removed we are from Chizik and DMac IMO.

"We are Iowa State" is ********, particularly when you lose to NDSU. If NDSU and UNI can do better, ISU can do much better.
I agree, but when? I have been a fan for 30 years and have been waiting for us to get better and it never happens. I think we have the right coaches to get to where we want to be, but it's going to take time. CPR is in year 6, I know, but he deserves more time to get things on track before we talk about firing him.

You can believe whatever your little heart desires buddy. I know some things have happened internally and I know he lost a lot of respect. Could care less whether you choose to believe that or not.

You are such a loser

How pathethic is your worthless waste of a life that you come here and keep running the same nonsense.

Come with your proof. Or better yet, just go away
