Why does ISU sponsor and support KXNO?

Since ISU is the largest university in the state ... It still gets secondary coverage on KNXO .... Why not go to another provider? Iowa has WHO and KXNO ... UNI has KXEL and KXNO. Isn't it time for a change? Wouldn't it be great to have Williams, Paul Clark, John Walters, Eric Heft, Blum, Deuce, Arnaud, et al providing guest interviews (former Cyclone players etc) INSTEAD we are stuck with a tin can station with a hearable coverage range of about 40 miles! Not to mention the pro Iowa stiffs on the morning show? Or waiting for sports talk without all the non sports BS? Mildred Murph doing his chatty Kathy routine on "Guess Who's Birthday?" Not to mention Miller the Canadian bloviating about baseball in his boring monotone? Come on ... ISU you can and should expect better than this crap! Heck Brinson is pretty decent ... But the others can't hide their anti ISU slant. The RAG is the RAG ... Maybe KASI would be a better station to support than KXNO? KASI can stream just as well as KNXO!

It is irritating that the Hawks have WHO to boom to the entire midwest, especially since they are so close to ISU. However, in the new digital age that advantage is quickly disappearing. Cyclones.tv is slowly gaining steam, but it is wall to wall ISU coverage as JP has been pointing out lately in interviews. This will be huge in the future going forward. ISU is well positioned to get out it's product when higher level success finally comes.

you're gonna have to breed out all the Hawkeye fans, including those that work at KxNO.

I basically avoid KXNO at all costs. Murph and Andy is the only show that try to give both sides equal time. T and T and Miller and Brinson seriously suck the big one.

People that complain about the coverage now clearly are pretty young. Try growing up in the 80s and early 90s. It was the perfect storm of ISU being garbage, EIU being good and dominating the series, a media darling in Fry and no internet. Talk about pure hell.

Things are changing but ... We need a flagship station much like Iowa has with WHO (not to mention KXNO). BTW Iowa dominates northeast Iowa with WMT etc..

I think KXNO is pretty split, maybe even leaning towards the good guys in the afternoon. The mornings are pure Haks though.

Try living in Cedar Rapids. You will be begging for KXNO.
