It doesn’t matter what you feel, only facts :). Find out what is going on. Is it just a problem when connecting to one of the networks/APs, or both? I assume people have passwords to both, so they can connect to either network. In that case units aren’t assigned anything, in that they can do whatever they want. You need to talk to everyone to try and narrow it down. And have them show you, just like you’ve done tests yourself. If there are only 3 people, go to each one and run tests in each one. You got stuck with the job, you need more info.

Separate password for each SSID and each are intended to be geographically based. Example the names are upper condo and lower condo. Our 11 unit complex has 3 buildings; one lower of 7 units and 2 upper of 2 units each.

Both networks have 12-17mb download max based on mobile download speed tests by multiple different devices.

I appreciate the potential grayness in my information and the importance of gathering facts/information. (Thumbs up).

We are all frustrated with the performance and have accepted it due to the lack of progress/improvement in 10 years.

Behind you
Thank you to all of the people that responded to my original question.

I was able to set up a “wifi booster” today and the results are confusing to me. The booster resulted in a broader Wifi radius; however my mobile devices/roku connection didn’t result in an improved download ability - am I mistaken by expecting an improved download ability as a result from the booster?

Note - the lack of improvement (less than 1mb download ability from the lower level roku unit vs. 13-17mb in upper level on the same “network”) should be expected?

Ultimately, I’m confused on if my expectations in the $100 wifi booster should result in a better consistency/stronger download (less burfing) of the native wifi network in the lower level.

I feel I should simply accept that my location is gonna result in a less than adequate internet access. Am I wrong?

TIA and go clones!
In my limited knowledge that's exactly what it's supposed to do, expand the reach of the existing signal that's coming in. If you're getting a weak signal, I don't think a booster/extender/repeater can do much about that.

What kind of speed do you have?

I used to have 100/20 with 1 router and 1 extender. The extender dropped the network speed to 50-70 range and download speed to barely able to take a zoom call.

Spent the money and upgraded to the Google Nest mesh system. Speeds are consistant and very good throughout our 2800 sf home. I can still pull 70-80 mbs sitting at the fire pit in our back corner of the yard
@cyfan92

do you have to plug in your 1 nest point/extender into a wifi jack or is just plugged into an outlet?

I just purchased an Eero system. The extenders are plugged into outlets only. It's vastly improved the quality of my wifi further from my router.
Can you stream dirty movies walking all the way out to your mailbox and back without being interrupted?

We live in a swinger neighborhood. It's basically one dirty movie up and down the block.

Nest Wifi is on a pretty good sale because the wifi 6 points are coming out. But unless you need gig speed all over, regular nest is fine:

Or if you have a costco membership, router and 3 points is $249. Heck of a price for the quality.
