I do not think ISU will make the tourney this season. ISU is 6-4, can't shoot, struggles to rebound and defend. This is not a recipe for a tourney team. (I hope I'm wrong!)

ISU wins the last two games in 2019 to get to 8-4. I believe ISU goes 3-6 at best on the road in conference and 6-3 at best at home. Best case scenario is 17 wins (unless ISU somehow beats Auburn). 17 wins will not cut it IMO.

What do you all think?

I think Big 12 play is going to be rough, unless we can get 7-8 wins in conference, I don't see us making it. Who knows, we could win the big 12 tournament again.

I voted no. Very hard to win games when you can’t shoot. We simply can’t defend well enough to overcome that.

Next year is a long way off, but at this point I’d lean against us making it if we lose Haliburton.

ISU's FG% is presently 297/650=0.457, third in the Big 12.
2pt: 225/404=0.557
3pt: 72/246=0.293

ISU shoots 0.557 on just over 62% of the shots they take.

0.557 is pretty good...maybe shooting more of those and less of the 0.293 variety would help alot.

Unfortunately I voted no and if we lost Halliburton after this year, I would vote the same next year as well. My outlook unfortunately for Prohm getting it done is not good. Loyal to the bone and love my Cyclones but Prohm has underachieved IMO. Not that he's been bad, but just not what I expected.

Improve the defense during this break, and we can. I think we have the talent to take advantage of the Big 12 being down.

7-2 at home, 3-6 on the road, and winning one in KC should be doable.

As I recall, on that Italy trip this same team was hitting shots left and right, three pointers and all! Granted the defenses were not good over there, but now we still get wide open shots and it's as if the whole team has a mental block and just can't put it in the hole.

Aside from poor shooting, I think effort and rebounding will doom them as well. As Jared pointed out in his post-game summary, too many of our guys just don't go hard to the glass. We have to be leading the country in "most rebounds grabbed at chest level or below."

Hard to vote yes based on what we've seen so far. Hope January changes my mind.

I believe ISU was 14-30 from 3 against the Netherlands, but turned around to go 5-27 against Siena. Then the next game they went 14-29 I believe. Very streaky but at this point even inconsistent and streaky would be an improvement.

Not being able to shoot is a big deal in basketball, especially when you don’t have the horses to defend multiple. I doubt we make the tournament.
Exactly, rebounding and defense may be based on effort, understanding and technique and could improve but shooting is what it is (could improve in long term but not enough to save the season) and we don't have reliable shooting so staying home in March. Johnny must be rolling over in his grave with this shooting.

We are pretty much what I thought we'd be preseason. Better than the team from two year ago that missed the tournament, but just below a bubble team. We lost arguably 5 of our 6 most talented players (Wigginton, Horton-Tucker, Shayock, Lard and Babb). The Horton-Tucker loss was unfortunate because he was good enough to go pro, but not good enough to have a huge impact as a freshman. Pretty much the worst case scenario for a recruit. Similar case with Wigginton, although he wasn't really good enough to go to the NBA, but decided to try it anyway. We are lacking scorers in a big way. Either Wigginton or Horton-Tucker would have made a huge difference this season if they had returned.
