I-State is pretty lame. Nobody refers to us as that, nor should they.

I agree. I never understood that, really. I like the overall look of the uniforms, but the logo could be better. Bigger fish to fry at this point, though.

Wish all you guys want about the I-State, it stays as long as JP does, probably longer. The marketing/PR project that surrounded the branding change didn't happen overnight and certainly wasn't cheap.

I love the new uni's and the logo is growing on me, but would sure like to see players names on the back. Actually the double stripe on the shoulder pads looks different than the one stripe on USC's, so we look a little different. I like our color, at least it's a lot more red than the dark maroon on the basketball uni's. The new coach may change the uni's but I doubt the I-State logo changes since it's now part of ISU, but I now like the new logo.

It sure looks like it.

We should put names on the back since it was Chizik that wanted them gone because of the "team" concept...psssh yea right.

I'm not the biggest fan of the I-State, but we do need to remember that a change in the logo doesn't just affect the football uniforms. Every sport has to change the logos, the cheerleaders, dance team, marching band all have to get things that don't have the old logo on them. For the marching band to get new overlays (the part on the front of the jacket) would cost around $400 per uniform times about 500 uniforms, or $200000. I imagine the same sort of cost factor applies to just about every group that has to change (the 400, not the 200000). So to change the logo, we're talking about millions of dollars in costs to the athletics department alone. In addition the major retailers and licensees will have to bite a major cost in selling the old logo stuff at reduced prices and buying up new inventory. When we change the logo, its not just a thing that will cost a little bit of money, it is a multimillion dollar decision.

The uniforms are fine. The helmet and I-State logo however are another matter. I never have liked the red/cardinal/maroon helmet color. Like someone else said, use an old school yellow. That would make the logo, whatever it is, stand out instead of blending in.

I think someone may have said this, but the new logo is JP's thing, not Chizik's. It isn't going to disappear.
