Seems like the timing has been adjusted. Heaviest snowfall might be around mid-afternoon for central Iowa.
I have to drive home from central Ames to north central Ames tomorrow after work, will I be ok?
Make sure it is a track that starts at a place with a good happy hour and snacks, head to a grocery story and buy all of the bread, milk, and beer they have, and then end up at home, ready to face the apocalypse fully stocked and crocked.
Based on how well the City of Ames has cleared streets in the past, no you will not be ok.

It hasn't even happened yet, pace yourself.
Get back to me when a local forecast shows a majority of the state getting 11"+ as the computer model that was posted and those totals are realized on the ground.
What the NWS just doubled or tripled the forecast in one day. No biggie. The timing has improved drastically on these snow systems and that is the real take away from long-term forecasts. The exact totals can change quickly.
Might want to save the trash talk till it actually gets here. Snow amounts are extremely hard to predict.
