OU is the 4 seed due to tiebreaker (win against KU)

Unless Baylor finishes off Kansas, which they are working on doing.

Then OU is still the 4 seed due to tiebreaker, but my calculations it comes down to us getting beat by Texas Tech and Oklahoma beating them both times.

Wouldn't the tiebreaker then move to K-State and we beat them but they swept OU?

No, the tiebreaker uses combined records against tied teams if it comes to that. Since K-State and Kansas would be tied for #1, and both OU and ISU are 1-3 against those teams, the tiebreaker would continue down through OSU, Baylor, Texas, WVU, and then TTU. We have the same record as OU against all of those teams until you get to TTU.

On ESPN they just showed us as #4. They might be wrong, but obviously it doesn't matter either way.

KSU+KU= 1 win total
OSU= split
ISU
OU
BU= sweep
WVU=Sweep
Tech=Sweep for OU, split for ISU.

OU gets the 4.

I think OU gets the 5th seed due to one less game on the record books. BUT who cares...I'm glad we are playing them, they had to have left a bad taste in ISU's mouth down in Norman. Won't take much for Fred to get them riled up and ready to go.

Yes, I believe this is correct. We get the 4th seed, not that it matters much.

Fred has had a more impressive start than could have been imagined given the little he was left to start with, and after years of mediocrity, not to mention being a coach for the first time at any level. Curious how many times he'll need to do this before they quit picking us 8th?

Last season, Iowa State was the preseason #8 and finished tied for 3rd.

This season, Iowa State was the preseason #8 and finished tied for 4th.

Next season, I'm going to bet on Iowa State before the season starts and will be collecting my winnings one year from now.

I would be surprised if we aren't picked 8th again next season. TCU and Tech will obviously be 9/10, and WVU and Texas will be expected to bounce back next season while we have a ton to replace again. Really, I don't see us picked anywhere other than 8th.
