I know it is a far different motion than baseball, but no pitcher should throw that many innings without a designated rest time. It might feel like it at the time. but it is not life or death if you win the game and series.

My wife was a pitcher and she said she would throw three tournament games in a day and her arm wasn’t anymore tired than normal. Says it’s a natural motion, unlike baseball, so it’s not creating strong torque on joints.

Like the announcers said, the runner for some reason decided to go out wide of the plate and then try to tag it with her hand - why didn't she just slide directly to the plate? It was open, as they said...

It was, but no reason to send her down four runs. Would have had 2nd and 3rd with one out. Momentum on their side. That run really didn't mean much at that point.

Exactly. They needed four runs. There was no reason to send her in the bottom of the last inning when three runs need to score behind her. Would have been no force out either.

In the postgame presser Coach Gasso accepted the blame for that decision.
She admitted the mistake and she actually said that she apologized to the team after the game.
