Would we be a bowl team this year playing iowa's schedule?

After they way we threw the game away against another 3-win (& definitely inferior) team on Saturday (just like Toledo & Oklahoma State games), I really have no idea if we'd do any better with Iowa's schedule.

There's no debating it's a much easier path than we had, but we haven't shown any ability to close out games when they're close.

As already said.
1. Center the kick at Toledo
2. Know what freaking down it is against OSU.
3. Knee the ball against KSU
and we are a bowl team with our schedule.

Maybe, except I'm not convinced we could have beaten ourselves if it'd come down the last 90 seconds.

Hard to say. We should have been for sure with that schedule. But who knows how many second half leads we would have blown, and how many new and inventive ways we would have found to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

Maybe we can lobby Jamie to get us an asterisk next to this season's record:

Iowa State 3-8*

*6-5 with Iowa's record because in fantasy land we can do anything we want

Whatever makes some of you feel better about the sad state of our program.

I'd argue we'd have 8 wins, minimum, against their schedule.

Wins:
Illinois State
North Texas
Illinois
Maryland
Indiana
Minnesota
Purdue

Toss Up
Wisconsin
Pitt
Northwestern
Nebraska

I don't look at any games on their schedule and say "7 times out of 10, we lose."

Or the schedules of the teams that were "quality wins". Such as Northwestern, Wisconsin, or Pitt?

ISU losses-- opponents' combined record--- 68-17

Iowa's wins -- opponents combined record 62-70

.nuff said

Iowa no better than 8-4 with ISU's schedule

WRONG.

a couple weeks ago ISU's computer ranking was ahead of:

Minn
Maryland
Rutgers
Illinois
Indiana
North Texas
Penn St
Illinois St

ISU is Iowa's 5th toughest opponent

I dont know why, but with all of the topics out there that we discuss daily, this is one of the only ones that raises the hair on my neck. I just dont get why it matters. Iowa finds ways to win, no matter what. We find ways to lose. We would still **** it down our leg with their schedule. This season has proven our ineptitude. Case closed.

Winning is about an attitude, and given what I witnessed this past Saturday, I do not think ISU is in a bowl.
Might get to 4 or 5 wins, but have no doubt ISU would find a way to fold its tent in most of those games.

I don't care about this either but let me tell you it's a lot easier not to pizz one down your leg against Maryland than it is agains K-State. It's also a lot easier to finish off an "upset" against NW and Wisky than it is TCU & OK St.

We scored more points in the 2nd quarter last week than half these teams average in a game. Pretty sure we would win at least 7 games with that schedule.

Arguing that something is "right" or "wrong" in a thread about BS speculative crap that no one can ever really know. Pretty impressive on the delusion spectrum.

Hard to say with this team, I think we'd win at least 6 games with that schedule but you never know. I mean we're the 4th best team they've played so far so it's pretty easy to assume we'd do at least a couple games better
