Yes. I don't understand why everybody thinks it's is a done deal that Mac will be shown the door. I still think he comes back next year.

I suppose that it's the hopelessness that everybody feels about the direction of the program now. The idea that a change might be made at least gives people hope that it might have a chance to get better.

But I really do think that Greg will be back on the sidelines next year.

I pray that GMAC is not retained. I have already lost all hope in his ability to have any sort of success and if he is retained as coach I will have lost all hope in the Men's basketball program as well as losing all hope that JP knows what the hell he is doing. Keeping Greg will be the ultimate FAIL IMO.

They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results......

Year 1...15-16
Year 2...14-18
Year 3...15-17
Year 4...14-16
Year 5...?????? Do we really need to see a 5th losing season in a row before we decide a change needs to be made???????

You need to re read his post, he is not suggesting Jay Wright, he is simply asking why he was not on that list of top coaching salaries that i gave a link for.

No I don't. Whether it should be directed at him or not, I've seen Jay Wrights name brought up more than a couple times this week.

I get around
do we have an opening? I thought we had a coach with 5 more years on his contract.
That's what I was thinking! Maybe there is an opening on the Hilton maintenance staff or something.

Excellent....excellent post. (Didn't Albert Einstein say that about "insanity?")

I PRAY as well that this guy is shown the door. He MUST be fired right after the loss in the B12 Tourney.....

What happens if we don't lose in the Big 12 Tournament?

Maybe coaching isn't the problem...In fact, maybe it's damn good coaching keeping us in all of these games.:skeptical:

Correct! Maybe it's a combo of coaching and the players playing poorly at important times of the game. Man, if only McD was in control of the players he brought into the program. Oh wait, he is!! He is responsible for bringing the right guys here AND coaching them so that they don't do stupid things at key points in the game. Oh well, things are still perfect. This team is only 10 wins away from a national championship!

That would be fun...

Are you kiddin'? We have a snowball's chance in hell of winning the Conf. tourney.

Still though, if it DID happen.....the season's goal was to get to the NCAAs was it not? If that situation presented itself....well then I would have to agree that our A.D. would really have to think his future over at ISU. ..and YES, I would love that story for Gmac.....again, I thought 4 years ago that he was a good hire and welcomed it.....from what I have seen since is not B12 caliber, guys leaving.....not closing out games....getting blown out....running after jucos to come in next season.....THIS GUY is not B12 material......time to cut our losses.. We need a winner.

But we are going to be nowhere close to winning the B12 Tourney.....now that is a pipe dream.

I don't know what the odds are, but should we, at least, head down to KC and give it a shot?

My guess would be a Texas or A&M.

I could see us potentially pulling a first round upset over one of those teams but I would find it hard to believe that we could pull off another upset against a team like Kansas or Kansas State in the 2nd round. Our only hope would be lining up to face Mizzou in the 2nd round if they end up being seeded high enough. I won't say that it is impossible but I would say that our odds or running the table are next to nothing. I would love to see the team pull off a miracle but I still don't think that a run through the conference tourney and a miracle tourney championship as enough to keep GMAC around. If we did make the tourney we would probably be a 14 or 15 seed.

Me too..No way we will even see either of those teams in the second round.

It would be the third round.

Considering that A&M is ranked and the talent Texas has I don't know how anyone could rationally think that we have a chance. We have never beaten a ranked team under McD and we've never beaten a team that had more talent then us or that we weren't supposed to for the past four years.

Sorry... I haven't been paying enough attention to the standings to know where everyone is at the top of the standings. I have just looked for ISU and that means I have been focused on the bottom.
