If the ISU offense struggles to score against TCU, Would you play Becht? Obviously, if this is something Campbell & Manning are planning, they would give Becht more snaps in practice this week.

I checked the ISU participation report and Becht has played 2 games so far, so playing him Saturday would not burn his redshirt.
Yes. Decker's saw action in a number of games in relief of Purdy, the same should occur here.

Its all about player development.

"A number of games" =

Mop-up duty in 5 blowouts.
2 series against OU where Purdy was hurt.
The 4th quarter against Iowa after Purdy imploded.

No, I still believe in Dekkers… is he inconsistent? Yes. Does he make poor reads? Again, yes. He still has a big upside! Just needs time. Lastly, Fire Manning.

I think you approach the game similar to how you did the first 11. If it is out of hand at any point in time, sure, put in one of the backups. But waiving the white flag isn't part of the Campbell culture. I think the team waived the white flag in the last game Matt's first season against WVU, but that is the only time I remember them rolling over and dying. I don't think they will Saturday either. I expect another one score loss if I'm being honest.
Do you assess the punt against Tech was a legitimate decision to try to win the game?

If the coaches wanted to do something ridiculous, why not make Dekkers play right-handed.

Becht doesn't even appear to be the second-team QB, based upon sideline activity.

Dumb, Dekkers playing against a good defense is valuable experience for next year.
So Becht or Cook wouldn't benefit from getting some 2nd half game snaps, if a Dekkers led offense can't put points on the board during the first half?

I like Dekkers, but hope the staff promotes open competition at all positions this off-season. Giving Becht or Cook some game snaps is motivation for them looking ahead to spring practice and workouts.

I say let's play the kid and see what he can do, but only if Dekkers struggles, and I expect he probably will.

Campbell's always played guys who earn PT in practice. So, if Becht's practicing really well he should get a shot.

I mean, how could he make the offense any worse? He'd basically have to take a knee every play to make it any worse.

The upside is TCU wouldn't be prepared for his tendencies and it might be like Purdy vs OSU. And a nationally televised game where we potentially give TCU a run would certainly help things going into recruiting I would think, and would be one of the few highlights to this season.

And as far as Dekkers confidence if he were to be pulled? Hey, it's part of the game.

Not so sure you can find anyone else in the room that wants to take the hit from an untouched blitzing LB. Plus the ever present blindside hit from the untouched DE. Both occurring within 2 seconds of the snap. Was told the other day that J.J. has only 100 yards of career rushing. Might need to check quikstats on that.
