Dekkers also needs to trust another WR, or another WR needs to step up. X is exhausted and I'm sure that's the reason for the drop at the end.

Down year. You usually don't see it with a really good defense though.

Brock and Norton being hurt and out really hurts the offense.
I wondered last night what the overlap is between teams that are .500 or worse and teams with top ~15 defenses. Can't imagine that's a long list.

We've got two in this state.
I won't be surprised to see Iowa go just above .500, I don't count them out yet. Schedule is far too easy, they do have practically the same team as last season where they won a bunch of games. Us, on the other hand...our offense may somehow be worse than theirs at this point, and we don't have the defense scoring a TD every game like they do (granted, ISU D effectively did yesterday with the goal line fumble).

I don't know why Stanley isn't used on a deep threat every play. He's been excellent when targeted.

Throws to Stanley and Dean/Hanika are there, Dekkers just has blinders on for X only. Unfortunately at this stage in his development he’s looking like a one-read guy. There are handfuls of plays each game Dekkers is throwing into double/triple coverage on X while Stanley has a full step on his guy right off the snap. A couple plays last night our TEs had mismatches with man coverage with no safety over top, and Dekkers never even looked their way.

Iowa's schedule is dog **** per usual, and their defense is good at scoring points. We've at least seen our offense play well and score points this year, albeit against bad teams but that's more than what you can say about Iowa's offense. Something is up on offense; could be as simple as the RB injuries or something else.

Said it last night. I'd love for x to sit a series and make the offense function without him.

They oughta just practice like that or something. Get lots of reps where Dekkers can find more comfort.

Maybe the already do, who knows.

What's it going to cost to fire manning and Myers in December?

We all know Campbell doesn't have the balls to fire a friend in-season

So when things get tough, the tough blame others? Or throw them overboard?

This is the SAME coaching staff that has put ISU in 5 straight Bowl Games! They didn't suddenly lose their talent.

So we have lost 3 straight. Big deal!! The staff & players have their backs to the wall, but they will succeed, fail or tread water as a team.

I guess a tough season shows that ISU fans are no better than Hawkeye or Husker fans. We have bandwagon and finger pointing fans on par with those schools.

Jihrehl Brock should NOT have been playing. He was not close to 100%. He somewhow got more carries than Deon Silas, when Deon Silas was actually the hot hand getting 6 yards per carry+.

Every. Single. One. Of our passing routes are short crosses, other teams know it, and they are never open now. We have defenses bunching up within ten yards mostly because we hardly ever throw it deep. I'm sure Hutchinson and Stanley and Noel are capable of running longer posts, go routes and deep routes. Why the hell don't we ever do it.

This is the most embarassing offense i've seen at ISU. I mean the Paul Rhoads Robert McFArland offenses were much, much, more explosive than this. This is totally pathetic and unacceptable in year 7 of the Campbell era.
And its about to get worse..A LOT WORSE with a trip to Austin TX next Saturday!

If the horns can lay 49 pts on the Sooners its hard telling how many points they can lay on us!!

Hopefully the defense will keep the game somewhat reasonable..because our offense with Dekkers not running at all will be worth about ten points at best IMHO

I feel like maybe it was the Baylor game that Noel had a great 1st half and we almost never went to him in the 2nd half. Would be interesting to chart targets by quarter. I feel like as the game goes on and Dekkers gets tight he locks onto X even more

The wild thing is. We ran with good yards per carry with Deon Silas. But of course that was working so we did not continue it.

Also, I don't know but why is Jared Rus on the field every play, as harsh as that sounds. Rus to me doesn't add much value in the run block scheme b/c hes somewhat slow, and he sure as heck doesn't in the pass game either. Tyler Moore would be better to me b/c he is half a foot taller and likely much faster.
This is a good point. Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t get all the love for Rus. Like being named all Big 12 for a limited role. It’s nothing against him personally it’s just that putting in what is basically a fullback invites another defender into the box. I’d rather use him on fewer downs and get another fast player on the field, if we have one.

Points KU has given up to P5 schools. 42, 30, 27, 11, 38

This team is ****** because the offense is ******. The defense is going to have an off night one of these games and it's going to get U G L Y.
I hope that off day doesn't happen saturday at Texas...

I’m afraid if we don’t play Gaines more he will want to hit the portal.

The offensive line isn't very good and other than X we have no receivers. Recruiting needs to get better honestly. IMO a lot of guys haven't panned out like they did in early recruiting classes. And then yeah there is Manning.

They've done great!!!

Not really. The stats show that offense sucks against quality opponents, and has for years.

We have had an elite and unique defense that works great in the regular season, and ok in bowl games or rivalry games.

These problems have been evident on the offensive side of the ball for years, and the fans have been on it.

Nothing has been changed. Same mistakes in year 7.

A precious timeout wasted in the 4th quarter, coming right after an opponent's timeout. Inexcusable.

No yards from midfield with the game on the line, with 2 possessions.

Quit making excuses as if we can't or don't deserve better.

you missed we love to throw in front of the sticks on 3rd down
My gosh this one drives me nuts. 1st down 2 yard pass, 2nd down 2 yard run, then penalty, then 3rd and 11 or 3rd and 16 and gain of 9 or 14 depending on how much we need so we’re two yards short then punt. Or move the ball like crazy then dekkers gets sacked and drive is done and punt
