I guess their faking injuries to stop our offense is a backhanded compliment - still very lame and this needs to be addressed. Like the someone already said make them sit out the rest of the series. If they were really injured then they probably need that time anyway.

Anyone else notice the rash of injuries that happened after an ISU long play. WV got to huddle up and get the correct defense called. Need a rule to either call a time out , or the player sits for a quarter. They sure had amazing healing on their sidelines.

Apparently you weren't at the game and the booing didn't come through on the TV.

The worst one was #22 falling down in the endzone 5 seconds after the play ended. He wasn't even involved in the play. That's when the boos started and they were justified boos.
Yepp. And three plays later he was healed and back in the game.

What bothered me is that we didn't give the quarterback that scored 5 touchdowns last week a chance to see if he could succeed in the red zone when it was clear that the other quarterback was not succeeding in the red zone. It is even more baffling when the backup actually scored a TD in the red zone but it was called back due to a bogus call.

1st and goal from the 3 is different than 1st and goal from the 20. I think.

Yep that one seemed blatant. He was lightly blocked, delayed going down in the endzone, walks off holding his arm, then comes back in a couple plays later.

Many others looked legit to me, and I didn't appreciate the fans around me screaming obscenities at a player who can barely get off the field. #2 White clearly hurt his leg, took awhile to limp off, and I don't think ever returned.

That's part of the problem with faking injuries in the first place. They cry wolf enough and we look like bad fans when we don't believe them.

He came back a few plays later also.

The announcers were incredibly milquetoast. They refused to take any strong opinion on anything, other than how tough the refs job was. Their best take was on the review of Parks incomplete pass where they said they wouldn't be surprised if the fumble stood because there wasn't enough on tape. While looking at the camera that showed everything perfectly and made it pretty obvious it was a forward pass.
I think they didn't know what the hell the replay official would call after the other reviews.

Holgorsen egging on the crowd removed any gray area. I think more people on the west side were booing him vs the player.

The rule I would implement is that a player that stops the game for an injury is out the rest of the series and a player that stops the game for an injury a second time is out for the remainder of the current quarter and the next quarter in that game.

Has both a player safety component and should be a reasonable deterrent against simulating injuries. From a fan and TV perspective it would also help pacing of the game.

The other procedural thing I would like to see looked at is the spotting of the ball by officials when a team is running a fast tempo. Most crews now will rush to spot the ball when a team is playing at tempo and I think it has effected the accuracy of the spots. I think spotting of the ball should be done at a consistent pace throughout the game. Crews should be doing it as efficiently as they can, but should not be rushing because a specific offense is on the field.

#2 was the player who took 2 more minutes to walk off the field after the trainers had looked at him for a couple of minutes. If this was not a planned stalling tactic then the trainers on either side of him would have taken some weight so he could one legged walk off the field like we have seen injured players get off the field countless times. It wasn't like he was a 300+# offensive lineman. And yes, he was back on the field the next series without so much as a limp.

When a team that plays slower does this I think that is bush league. When a team that speeds things up themselves on offense does this it is doubly bush league. Bush league = Holgerson

I'll never forget the game at JTS that Misery won by kicking a field goal after a player went down with an "injury". They didn't have any timeouts remaining and time would have expired except for the luckily timed injury time out. They were high-fiving and patting on the back the miraculously healed player after the made field goal. I would really like to see them not allow the "injury" team substitutions until after the ball is set and the clock started. That would take care of some of that crap.

How is that any different than Cotton-Moya getting hurt after he got burnt for a TD and then coming back in the next series?

Wonder what Holgerson's beef was at halftime? He sat there with the refs for a few minutes as everyone else had headed to the locker room.

I don't view it much different than Iowa State milking the clock on substitutions the final few games of the year. I have a feeling that was probably done intentionally and really pissed Bob Stoops off a few times. I saw it agains Tech a couple times as well.

#2 ran back onto the field 2 plays later in the same series. He was not attended to on the sidelines by any staff and never sat down.

#22 sprinted back onto the field after 3 plays in the same series. He, too was not attended to by any staff on the sidelines and never sat down.

#30 injured a shoulder and was taken off the field and attended to by trainers. He did not return.

We were behind the visitor's bench observing this "phenomena".
