Which do you hear? When my wife first had me listen I thought it said 'yammy' and thought she was crazy for hearing Laurel. Now it sounds like Laurel plain as day..

All day, I heard Yanny. As of 15 minutes ago, I am hearing Laurel. How do we know the recording is not randomly switching between the two?

It probably depends how high a frequency you can hear. Try this test. 9000 H is the highest I could hear. And I hear Laurel.

I could hear 12,000 and all I've been able to hear is Laurel.

I was able to hear 12,000, after that, blessed relief.

It will depend on how the sound is filtered - if the higher frequency noises are eliminated, you will hear "Laurel". If the lower frequency noises are eliminated, you will hear "Yanny".

BTW, I was out after 10,000HZ.

I have literally heard Laurel every time I have played it and I have tried different devices.

It's both. Yanny is at a higher frequency, Laurel is at a lower.

I think it says Janny (as in @Mr Janny ), which is way cooler than any Laurel.
