North Carolina makes no sense. They're just throwing **** at the wall.

Exactly. He has an easier path to the CFP at Iowa State and basically has unlimited say within the program here. He’s not giving that up to go to North freaking Carolina.

I could see him being interested in the Jets this time around though.

If Campbell leaves it will be the NFL or an upper tier MW job. Nothing else. I would also say it wouldn't shock me at all if his next move was more in a personnel role at the NFL level. He is highly regarded in that aspect of the game.

Nothing Earth-Shattering here by any means but From Football Scoop:

"Matt Campbell is right there in terms of fit for being able to build a program, a healthy culture and, frankly, flourishing at a spot where basketball tends to loom over football."

Have no opinion on Campbell taking the UNC job. But, IMO that is a very attractive job as the UNC President & AD is going to give any new coach a lot of resources to succeed as UNC positions themselves for a jump to Big10 or SEC when there is another round of realignment.

Even if the next round of realignment is 5 years away, within the ACC there are only a couple other ACC schools that have similar financial resources going into an era when athletes are going to get paid. And one of those schools, FSU, is a disaster.

Regarding the 12 team playoff, the ACC might be the easiest path because the competitive balance in the ACC is not as good as Big12.

Lastly, Chapel Hill wouldn't be a bad area to live and should be a relatively easy area to recruit to as North Carolina and neighboring states produce a lot of football talent.

Wut? Granted we’ve had more real success in basketball than football, but we’re nowhere near as much of a basketball school as UNC is.

Good lord I wish I could be as crappy at my job as these national sports writers are at theirs. Just lazy, uninformed reporting all over the place.
