The Brewers have a pretty deep farm system. They still have Phillips, Hiura, Ortiz, Burnes, Ray and Woodruff who are all top 100 or borderline top 100 types.

Evidently MLB Radio is reporting Brewers are out on Darvish and likely can't afford Cobb but may be in play for a Rays starter or a lower end FA.
Domingo Santana is probably the best trade piece we have as a centerpiece for a starting pitcher. 30 homers last year and decent batting average. Broxton is also on the block and who I’d prefer to trade over Santana. He’s a little inconsistent. We wouldn’t get as good a return for him as Santana. Broxton and Phillips will be good relief for injury prone Braun and 32 year old Cain. Our farm system was dented today but still loaded.
Not a Brewers fan but I'm a big baseball fan, and if I'm the Brewers I try and get Archer from the Rays. He'd be pricey but they could offer something like Santana, Phillips, Ortiz, and then a lesser prospect. Rays may want to swap out Phillips for Ray or Burnes but I have to think that combo of players would at least peak their interest.

I guess they are going with the under promise and over deliver strategy, lol. Let’s see how it pays off.
