Nice numbers from some of the guys again...

Clyburn... 8/11 from downtown!

Royce... Triple double.

Ejim... 40 points AND 21 rebounds.

Other guys had some good stats too but these stood out to me.

Wow, Ejim must have had a really great second half. He couldn't make a shot in the first.

OK, is RW going to average a triple double in the CCL? And is Ejim going to average 30 and 20? That would be pretty impressive...even for summer league ball.

Yeah, I mean he's not playing all D1 players, but this isn't your regular old city league.

I have been very impressed with the stats for all our players so far. It seems like they only improve as time goes on.

I love how RW is able to get over 10 assist a game if he continues it thorough out the season and is able to draw the double team it could allow for a lot of easy points for AB JR ME, he could even throw the ball to some one behind the 3 line. RW will help create a lot of points can't wait to see him in big 12 play!

I love the fact they Tyrus had 29 points, I think he will have great opportunities in his future, I just wish he put up as many assists as royce.

Babb and Allen seem to be shooting great from beyond the arc, I hope it continues because they could help silent a crowd when on the road if they hit as many 3 pointers as they are now.

I hope booker starts putting up more stats it would be nice if he could grab 10 boards a game, but otherwise he has put up a good amount of points per game.

I would comment on the other players but I don't feel like it. So I will say that they are all putting up nice stats and can't wait to see them play!

It always seems like there are 2-3 players that stand out each game, this will be great because if one person can't hit a shot during a game we have many others that are capable of doing so.

1st day it was Chris Babb - 29 points (7-14 from 3-pt range), 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 37 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals
2nd day it was Chris Allen - 42 points (7-18 from 3 pt range), 2 rebounds, 5 assists and Melvin Ejim - 35 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and Royce White - 29 points, 16 rebounds, 13 assists
3rd day it was Melvin Ejim - 40 points, 21 rebounds and Will Clyburn - 41 points (8-11 from 3 pt. range), 7 rebounds and Tyrus McGee - 29 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and
Royce White who had his second triple double - 20 points, 13 rebounds, 13 assists

This will be a fun year!!!

Looks like royce is the only one who passes!

Yeah, guys must be just going for their own shots outside of Royce White. Otherwise, guys like Lucious, Allen and McGee would be piling up the assists in games with so much scoring. RW seems to be toying with people and not really looking for his shot. I'd like to see him bust out for 50 one game. Not that it really means anything, but I want to see if he can carry a team scoring.

Booker's low rebounding total is a little concerning. Just my opinion, but my main concern isn't PG play or getting the ball up the court, but interior defense, scoring in the paint and rebounding. Seems like White and Booker are more finesse players and they'll really miss Godfrey.

Royce White isn't going to average a triple double in the Big XII, but it's encouraging to have evidence regarding Hoiberg's statement during that Big XII Teleconference about his passing ability. It seems like a weapon like White could make for some crafty game planning that will give defenses major headaches.

Another huge advantage I see with this year's squad over last year is that it seems like there's lots of guys you can trust to make points as the clock gets close to 0. Last year, opposing defenses knew to watch out for Diante, but it he was the only reliable option for those situations. Now, if you're playing Iowa State, who do you put extra effort into defending if they've got, say, McGee, Allen, Ejim, Booker, and White on the floor? There's probably going to be a mismatch somewhere.

I think next years squad is going to have the pieces we missed from last years team. Allen is good at creating his own shot and i think Royce will fill the post presence we missed last year. He will provide not only offense, but a bulky defender in the post

Hey Chris or others, would there be a chance that somebody could post which teams played which and then the winner along with the stats? Overall records would be nice to see as well. Thanks a ton for the information! I appreciate the time put in to get these stats on here.

Last nights winners were Two Men and a Truck, Peak Performance, and ADIO. Impressive win by Peak as they had no Scotty.

Ejim had a three point attempt at the buzzer to win the last game (Cap. Ortho vs. ADIO), got knocked to the floor (after taking at least 2 maybe 3 steps), and it sailed wide. Could have been a foul but it was game three and I think the refs were ready to go home.

His team only had 5 guys and a couple of late non-roster fill ins so Melvin pretty much had to do it all. I'll give the guy credit, regardless of the situation he gives great effort and really seems bothered when his team doesn't win.

I agree we're going to have more scoring options this year, but DG was terrible when the game was on the line. Loved his play up to the 2 minute mark, but after that he forced things too much and choked. Throw in a replay of the @Nebraska or @ OkyState if you need a reminder. I really like the looks of this years roster and think we're going to be much like ISU's championship teams where you never knew who was going to have a big night, but you knew someone would. Didn't have that feeling last year and expected the team to be awful. Fred did a great job with what he had and enjoyed watching them play all season. If he can get that kind of effort out of these guys we're going to have a great season.

We have assembled alot of individual talent in a short time. It will be interesting to see how they gel together to make a team. Adversity will hit, whether someone gets hurt, sick, or we get blown out by a good team on the road. How they react to this will be the difference in a great team and an average team.

As mentioned before by someone, I also think ejim and booker are x factors. We have guards and a presence inside in white. But we need rebounding defense and scrapiness in the paint opposite white to be really successful in the Big12.

Out of curiosity who is keeping these stats? From the 3rd row I counted at least 6 or 7 rebounds for Booker.

He's not finesse, IMO. He's a beast and a physical specimen in this league. Like Royce I believe he's working on his perimeter game and ball handling. When he does post up or crash the boards, it's impressive.

By the way, Anthony Booker has one of the smoothest looking jumpshots I've seen out of an Iowa State power forward. He had one clunker last night but the rest were right on target; 3's (some of them step-backs), fadeaways, etc. Great rhythm. Also showed a great first step and drive last night followed by an athletic monster dunk. I think Railey was 'trying' to guard him when this happened.

I'm sure a lot of people who follow Chris Allen on twitter saw this, but figured it's worth posting... He tweeted this last night:

"Shout out to everyone supporting the CapCity League the more yall come. The more exciting we will make it."

Saw that too. He was fun to watch last night, clearly had the 'swagger' going on, he was filling it up about any way he wanted. And Babb was really trying to guard him too.

A myth about the CCL is that there is no defense. There are many players who go balls out on defense, man-to-man. The truth about the CCL is that there is very little help or team defense if any at all.
