That's not how sports work. We lost to plenty of teams who weren't as good as Kansas or Oklahoma this season.
Unfortunately for VA, it wasn't. Brogdon didn't show up on offense or defense in that Elite 8 game. He and Ellis saved their worst for last.
He blocked the ******* shot. I have always harped on Niang putting himself in positions to pick up senseless fouls but that wasn't one of them. The guy made a play and got screwed. That one and his 2nd (I think) were **** calls. I don't know that it changed the game, but to say they were his fault is ridiculous.
All that said, UVA can do that to you. They knew they could work McKay and Niang underneath and they did it. Then they hit shots like they have all year. I said before the game that you have to take everything from them because they aren't going to give it.
I think we had two great looks at 3 when we were down 9 and we had the ball down 7. We had chances to make that uncomfortable and just couldn't get the shots to fall. **** happens.
I sometimes wonder if the stupid "not athletic" tag that has hounded Georges just makes refs assume he can't cleanly block a good player. He certainly picks up a lot of invisible fouls.
No Quit in the Cyclones!!! I love that about this team. They do not stop believing that they can win any game they are playing in. I have been wowed by this group of players watching them comeback and beat Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, etc... On the other hand, the Chokeyes play scared, especially during their epic collapses at the end of this season and the collapse from 2 years ago.

unfortunately, I had three real jerk UV fans in front of me. I have no problem with fans who cheer their team, but don't like fans who put down the opponent....like these people did. Very arrogant and demeaning. Therefore, I decided to cheer for Syracuse, not that that makes any difference. So, relative to those three, I got some satisfaction when UV lost.
maybe I am petty, but that's how I feel.
Pretty sure the UVA fans aren't coming back to read this. They are still too busy washing the poop out of their players shorts from the end of the Syracuse game.
