Iowa city and Athens, GA, off the top of my head, have much nicer campus business districts. There’s something about Ames and development that don’t mix. If something does get built it’s usually underwhelming/doesn’t age well.
New Orleans has great food off bourbon street. The town is a dump though (whole state is kind of dumpy). Walk bourbon street once just to see it. I think NO overrated and I don’t care to go back. I felt safe. I just don’t like the place.
I lived in DC for a few years. Great list. Old town Alexandria, on king street, has a bunch of restaurants as well. The waterfront near the baseball stadium is nice too.
Good luck. Mine burst and was in the hospital for 5 days. Because it had burst doctors had trouble diagnosing. 7 hours of tests before they decided to cut me open. Fun times.
