    Great Movie Casting "Misses"

I agree with @Bipolarcy here, Tom would have been OK I think. I agree 100 billion percent on the Predator.

When do you think you will buy a 100% pure electric vehicle?

I'll hop on the sidebar convo here and agree. I've seen the dissolution of the intern/coop program greatly contribute killing off one company I worked for, and I am beginning to witness it on another one... IMO hands down the best talent recruitment method available. And it costs peanuts.

    New water heater...

Yeah I agree don’t touch it or cast any wayward glances!

    New water heater...

That is quite a bit better than the Department of Energy's estimation of 8% to 34%... https://www.cnet.com/home/energy-and-utilities/storage-tank-water-heaters-vs-tankless-water-heaters/

    New water heater...

And my last tanked water heater lasted 20+ years, it was the original in the house when replaced. I have a friend that is on their 3rd tankless in roughly a decade, say 10-15 years. This is in Iowa where are water has moderately high hardness. So... for the sake of argument lets say they both...

They are true, at least from my multiple friends' experiences, plus what the plumber told me. No, not what the marketing material says, but actual real, live experiences. Even those marketing materials talk about the need for descaling maintenance. Look, they certainly have selling points...

    New water heater...

I have a wife and 2 daughters, and we don't have the issue with our 40 gallon tank heater. I've taken showers while the washer has ran too, and only thing I missed was some water pressure. Tankless will do nothing for pressure. Just because I have friends that have had bad experiences, doesn't...

And requires more maintenance, generally never lives long enough to realize the return on investment of initial cost, etc. They are not for me, I've known too many people who had bad experiences with them. If I ever have a need for 'endless' hot water I'll get a fast recovery/commercial tank unit.

When do you think you will buy a 100% pure electric vehicle?

There are some key differences at this point with EVs, namely all of that stuff was more or less market driven, not mandate driven. At some point in time (assuming EVs trend continues) charging ports will be common in parking spaces. But we’re not there yet. Funny story about the oil vs gas...

Fertilizing my lawn for initial spring application

Hard to tell from any 2d pictures but I’m guessing grubs. Milky spore is the fix.

When do you think you will buy a 100% pure electric vehicle?

Yes new construction the costs would be significantly lower. Retrofitting/remodeling on the other hand can be a whole can of worms when it comes to electrical service. (I am a 'former' electrician). The cost of the components isn't all that significant, but the labor and all the activities...

When do you think you will buy a 100% pure electric vehicle?

The practical challenge of requiring properties to have charging stations is it would drive up the cost of the housing. I would dare say significantly increase by the time you calculated in all the infrastructure it would require to execute a mandate. I would conservatively(!) spitball $5-10K...

    ***Official 2024 Weather Thread***

Wind has become my least liked weather element. You are teased with a nice day out the window, then you step outside and get knocked over.

When do you think you will buy a 100% pure electric vehicle?

The challenge I see is fleet/company vehicles, like what I drive. For a few reasons: Under no circumstances would I (or anyone I know of in the same boat) pay out of my own pocket to charge my work vehicle. Of course there are workarounds for this issue. I do frequently drive over 800m a week...

    Non-Electric Lawnmowers

For a small engine your commandments are as follows. These are listed in order of importance; 1 & 2 are the most important, 3 is next: Drain or empty fuel at end of season. If using non-ethanol fuel if your model has a fuel shutoff draining/running the carburetor out should suffice. Use...
