    Here is my take. I miss when we could see the same players one year to the next and see them develop. My wife has totally stopped watching Iowa State basketball games because she hates having to get to know a totally new group of players every year. And I watched maybe 6 games this year...

    I think it is just really frustrating for most of us that we only get a 5-star McD AA about once every 30 years and he is a bust, while other teams get them all the time and they have an almost immediate impact.

    Hiring McDermott was not a complete mistake. Fact is, Otz would not be coaching here if we hadn't hired McDermott. The big mistake was in not hiring Otz to replace Hoiberg, but that is a different discussion.

    Does Iowa compete in Division 1 baseball? They can have that. It would be a big boost to the Council Bluffs economy to have Iowa in the College World Series. They can also have women's golf. And we can have 2 in basketball and 1 in football.

    I am in Council Bluffs, Hawkeye fandom is negligible around here, despite Hy Vee's best efforts. So, no way.

    Where do we play the Big 12 Tournament? KANSAS City, close to TWO conference teams, yet we outdraw them and turn the games into virtual ISU home games. We can do the same thing with the Hospital Arena.

    Kelvin Sampson has always been an Iowa State fan. I remember the endless praise he had for ISU during the Fizer years. I slightly expected him to join the ISU coaching crew. :)

    Guys, this is his third season and you are just now realizing that he is a good coach? He took us to the Sweet 16 of the NCAAs the very next season after winning 2 games! One of the biggest turnarounds in NCAA basketball history.
