Spending the day at the dome for the 8 man, A, and 1A games. Beautiful 72 degrees watching some (hopefully) good games is a great way to spend a day off

Both of these 8 man teams have over 40 players on their roster.

Maybe they should make a 6A. Move A to 1A and so on and put 8 man at class A. Make them put three more players on the field. Seems like a lot of 8 man teams have over or close to 30 players on their roster. There are a lot of class A rosters with fewer kids. They seem to find a way to get 11 on the field.

ive officiated plenty of 8-man games and i can safely say this is not the case.

i've seen 12 people on the sideline before.

I think these two teams are outliers.

It's also more than likely that almost every boy in the school is out for football.

I remember watching Don Bosco play and they had like 50 guys a few years ago

12 people on the sideline means 23 players. 40 is an outlier, but mid 20's is not. That's enough to put 11 on the field. Belle Plaine played 9 games in class A last year with 15 or 16 kids dressing. They've dropped to 8 man, but maybe schools like that should think about consolidating.

He means 12 kids total and that is pretty common in 8 man schools.

I'm 100% in the camp of give more kids opportunities and taking away 8 man takes away a ton of opportunities.

He meant 12 kids total which is not that uncommon for 8 man.

Here are the actual enrollment numbers for the current class sizes (click 2023-24 BEDS):

Bedford ranks high academically and is a county seat, so that might help their enrollment, make it higher than it would otherwise be.

Bedford fans are livid but I had no problem with the targeting call on the kickoff. Kid clearly launched himself head first

let me rephrase.

12 kids.. total. including the 8 on the field.

i also think there is more that goes into consolidation than just "welp, we have 12 guys on the football field, better consolidate"
