Open question: we had a pretty rugged schedule this year by comparison to a lot of schools. Does the better competition during the season, including more individual losses, tend to help us come March?

I think it helps having a tough schedule. Nobody likes the losses but it gives our guys a feel for the grind that's coming. Each match in every tournament coming up will be tougher than the last. There are a lot of AAs at the end of the year who have taken losses and learned from them.

I wonder if some of our guys needed the losses lately to get their heads right.
