I'm in the market for a new watch - specifically one that has some fitness abilities.

But I can't really figure what good the Apple watch is, especially in light of it's apparent shortfalls. Admittedly I stopped looking at it when I heard it's battery won't even make it a day..

Thats a pretty serious problem if true. Part of why I still wear a watch is for when my phone dies...that and its an old habit from my days as a casino dealer.

Im more of a wait till gen 2, but its intriguing for sure. Ill see how it sells and what have to have apps and stuff come out for it. Right now I have a Fitbit and thats good enough for me.

The concepts of the wearable tech hasn't fired me up yet.

I'm a pretty big tech nerd, but this has zero appeal to me so far. For me, it's in the same category as 3D tv. Neat, but i just don't see a need for it yet.

Nope. But I did buy a Garmin Fenix 3 and love it! I didn't know if I would care for notifications on my watch but it is really nice. Plus the activity tracking of Garmin is fantastic.

In read a review that said" it does everything your phone does, and it's for people who don't want to be bothered by their phone".

I'm pretty sure I'll eventually own one but I'll probably wait for the second generation. My biggest concerns are how well it works outside in direct sunlight and the display not being on all the time. I guess it is supposed to sense when you turn your wrist to look at it but I don't know how well that is going to work in real life. I'm also one of those left handed people who wears a watch on their left arm, so I'll be using it with my off hand. Not sure if that will be much of an issue or not.

I miss battery life on my old school flip phone. Those sucker lasted more than 3-4 days without charging.

I just can't see the use for the Apple Watch, especially at that price.

I like the idea of a fitness tracker, but I'd only want it for that use, so I don't think I'd want the watch. I almost always have a phone with me.

Of course, like just about everything, I'm sure at some point I'll feel the need for it. I thought I had no need for an ipad. I had a phone and a laptop after all, but I got offered some money at Christmas to put towards it and now I love it.

If i were buying one for fitness, i think I'd go with the Sony watch. It's not the prettiest in the world but with the GPS it'd be handy to leave your phone at home.

I used to have Nike+, I thought that was garbage. Probably worthless 100 bucks I spent on fitness watch. My wife bought fitbit HR and she loves it because she can have competition stuff with her friends.

This is why my wife and I have it as well. Its a pretty solid tracker and the price was right.
