Gfeller back down at 141 could be a tough out for some guys. If his weight is fine he could easily be top 3. Where did you see he’s wrestling?

Oklahoma State wrestling Twitter account hinted at it too, and Willie Saylor said he’s down to weight. It makes sense since Dusty Hone wasn’t seeded at 141. Will be curious to see which side of the bracket Gfeller ends up on

Has Ian ever wrestled him?

Yeah I'd want Gfeller as close to weigh-in's as possible. He's talented for sure, but my understanding is that 141 is one tough pull for him. Ian would melt him right off the scale. Regardless, I like Ian in that match up. He's got the right style to keep position and stay out of the spots where Gfeller is dangerous, then allow his pace/pressure to take over late and gas him out.

Will there be any reseeding potentially? Or are the only chances for changes to these brackets last minute replacements?

125 - Kysen has his work cut out for him, but I think he can qualify from here
133 - I believe Redding has the ability to make the finals with this draw
141 - With Gfeller opposite, Ian should coast to the finals
149 - Avenge the loss to Lara and get Boo in the semis, would be a good match to see where Jarret really is at
157 - Will blow through the field
165 - Excited to see if Judge can get the job done and qualify, he's right there with everyone not named Wittlake in this bracket IMO
174 - Draw makes me nervous with his recent performances, Hastings then Mantanona, if he's not ready to go it could be a short weekend
184 - I think Sammy is rounding back into shape/form, I'll take him to beat Keckeisen the 2nd time around and then win the damn thing
197 - Hard to know what to expect here, I don't really see him beating his seed but maybe he could sneak 5th from Woodley?
285 - Anything less than winning this would be a disappointment

Boy, making the finals at 33 and 84? Sign me up for that.

Someone can fact check me but wtf. Okie st got like one first round bye. Seems like some stinky, team point bs to me.

Here's a quick look at which teams get an opportunity for more points:

The only thing that would change seeding now is if one of the seeded guys is subbed out. If a non-seeded guy is subbed out, I think it's just a straight replacement on that line.

Are coaches part of the seeding process - looks quite favorable for OSU point wise

They were not part of the seeding this year (different than previous years), and haven't ever officially been part of bracketing/draws to my knowledge.

This only tells part of the story. Unseeded guys are guaranteed a first-round match. That's why Fresno has 8 -- all 8 of those are unseeded.

The issue is how many seeded wrestlers got first-round matches.
Oklahoma State 89% (8/9)
Wyoming 63% (5/8)
Air Force 63% (5/8)
West Virginia 60% (3/5)
Utah Valley 60% (3/5)
Iowa State 56% (5/9)
UNI 50% (3/6)
Northern Colorado 50% (3/6)
Oklahoma 25% (2/8)
SDSU 25% (2/8)
NDSU 17% (1/6)

Fresno 0% (0/2)

That’s flat out criminal. I’d be throwing in a brick if I were OU or the Dakotas.
