Keep in mind JP is on the committee. Sure, he’s out of the room when they are formally talking Iowa State, but you’d be a fool to think he isn’t/hasn’t been talking about them behind the scenes. He’s probably eating up being in the “discussion” for a 1 seed, and saying he’d rather be a 2 in the midwest though.

There's a real chicken or egg thing with our KSU loss. Win that and the argument for the last #1 becomes pretty clear...but that loss is part of what inspired the amazing play in KC from almost every interview I've heard with players.

In the long run it probably helped spur the team, especially since Houston won out anyway and it didn't cost a share of B12 regular season title.

I believe they also consider close losses and injury. If someone brings up say the Baylor buzzer beater being waved off, or some losses when say Ward was injured. If someone doesn’t point those out they probably just look at the numbers and what not. Obviously they know a lot, but they all don’t know everything about everyone. That’s why there’s a committee, and we have someone on it to help sway some minds.

The whole non-conference SOS is stupid. It should be every game as a whole. If you aren't going to put extra weight on the conference tournament, then you should not put extra weight on non-conference. And Iowa State has a better strength of schedule (25) than North Carolina (35) when you consider the entire season.

Can someone link the UCONN non-con at that rating, everything I have seen is 65-70 for that. They played UNC, Kansas, Gonzaga, and Texas in Q1 and Indiana in Q2.

Agree Big 10 only 2 ... (although Wisconsin fringe 4 if it beats Illinois). MWC probably highest is 5. WCC might max at 6.
